NOWAYOUT Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
Incredibly novel experience where it’s possible not everyone in your group escapes. More rooms should take risks like this one did. Very physical at one point but wasn’t “required” to do to complete the room. Very scary but lots of fun
2055/Bonus Game
Time Escape - Vancouver
Escape room
IRL
Both 2055 and Bonus here are really well done. I think this is their hardest room here, most of the puzzles were satisfying to solve but there were a lot of observational/visual puzzles (both rooms) so not as much variety as some of the other rooms they have. Again high tech room is great, zero locks. I’m always mixed on spaces that have 2 rooms in the same space as a lot of the “bonus game” stickers kind of ruin the immersion a bit.

Trapped

Standard fair for Trapped escape rooms. Good amount of tech instead of locks. All puzzles felt fair and were varied in type. I think there are better rooms (and spooky rooms) around for the price but if you are doing a few trapped rooms already I’d add it to your list of ones to do.

Decent (single) room. Loved the immersion, really felt like you were in the room in the thunderstorm. As with all rooms at this location there is a large reliance on 4 number and letter locks, and are fairly linear. And the puzzles you manipulate (often just sheets of laminated paper) are in much need of repair. Bring a small group here, since it’s only one room. A bit confusing clues in this one, but in general it was a fairly easy room Having only one staff run all of the rooms there can mean getting help is rough. You do have an iPad that will give one hint for a puzzle or the full solution.

Mixed on this one. The set design is a lot of fun and there are cool surprises. Theres one or two puzzles near the end that I just wish we had a whiteboard for in order to solve as there was just so much information to incorporate. But until then the flow felt really good.
Armoire a Vendre [Wardrobe for Sale]

I was grinning from ear the ear the entire time. I think this takes the place of my favourite room. It is narrative heavy but incredibly delightful and surprising and a must-do if you are in the area.

Went with a room of new players and was decently solvable with a few clues. Some puzzles had lots of red hearings but the staff were super friendly.
A Slice Of Crime: The Case Of John Dough [Outdoors]
Improbable Escapes - HQ

If you haven’t done an outdoor escape room definitely give one of them a try at Improbable Escapes. They are a fun change of pace to a traditional room and walking around Kingston is gorgeous. If you have done one, I think this is pretty well par for the course of what to expect. Well done as all Improbable Escapes stuff is, but It’s hard to beat their indoor rooms when compared.

Better than “Me” in terms of I actually understood the solutions to the puzzles at the end, and more felt difficult yet manageable. However still a lot of just guessing what might be the solution or too many leaps in logic that felt it could be clued in better. Also there needs to be a flashlight for each person. It’s a dark space and you’re only given 2 flashlights, it really ruins the experience for anyone who doesn’t have a flashlight.
Batman: The Dark Knight Challenge

Theming is on point, incredibly impressed with the set design in this space. I really liked the incorporation of the villains in a few different ways that felt authentic. Slight nitpick is potentially have a few more guideposts (like a light or other indicator) that you are allowed to open something. I’m always nervous to try and open something that could easily just be a prop that shouldn’t be pulled on haha.
