Polly's Problematic PredicamentNexus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA very “interesting” room that was a delight to play with my girlfriend. It is the only room we have ever completed without using any hints, but that’s not to say it was a walk in the park. Overall, it was very unique and fun!

The DepthsThe Escape Game - MiamiEscape roomIRLFor starters, shouts out game master, Colton, for supplying my gf with a free coffee to bestow her the energy to power through this game as we did two back-to-back. Granted, I wish he offered me one as well, but I’m not as pretty as her, so I suppose that tracks. But in regard to the room, the immersion was great—maybe best yet. The first room had good puzzles, but the second room nearly broke us. We struggled so much that we ended up using 4 hints. Ironically, my gf was able to get us through the more simple rooms that I couldn’t solve for the life of me; however, I solved the final puzzle in the final room by the luck of 100 men. Talk about a come back. With 8 minutes left we still had two puzzles in room 2 as well as the entirety of room 3. All was lost, but that’s when gods of all religions blessed us and we ended up finishing with around 2 minutes remaining. According to the game master, my luck of solving the final puzzle has only been seen 1-2 times in his years as a GM. Overall, a solid 8/10 room.
Cosmic CrisisThe Escape Game - MiamiEscape roomIRLThis game was amazing! You know a game is going to be good when a rival escape room owner RECOMMENDS this room to you after playing their game. The “set” and puzzle designs are incredible and really help with the immersion. Jokes aside, by the time I’m in the second room I’m fully convinced I’m in space on a ship. Then the last room, though nearly impossible with 2 people, was a fun and exciting conclusion to end the game. As I said, with 2 people, especially if they’re short, it may not be possible (see photo below). But by the grace of God, and my grandfather’s genetics, I was able to extend myself like Mr. Fantastic to allow us to escape within the last minute. The puzzles can a bit tricky, but it’s more so due to overthinking than pure difficulty. Overall, I’d highly suggest giving this room a try!
MissingLockbox Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis place is amazing. You see their many thousands of reviews, how nearly they are 5/5 star rated, and after playing you realize just why that is. From the owner down to her staff, everyone is very nice. Though, perhaps more importantly, the owner and staff are big Escape Room enthusiasts. It really shows with the attention to detail and effort put into creating, maintaining, and running the games. I thought things were maintained well, story was good, puzzles were fun but not crazy polarizing difficulty wise. The best aspect of this escape room is how they WANT you to escape. It’s a game, sure; but, they understand at the end of the day you want to escape and see how the puzzle/story unfolds. Overall, had a great time and I will be back.

The Doll ShopTimebox EscapeEscape roomIRLThe Doll Shop was poorly connected puzzles and many of the props, namely ones involving visuals, were faded and hard to read. Moreover, we ran into an audio issue that was detrimental to the room. Overall, the concept and designs were good, but poorly executed and maintained.
