The Awakening
Escape Tales - Online
Escape room

Some clever puzzles but overall the mechanics and the story are just make it hard to recommend. The mechanics punish exploration which is necessary to play the game and also part of the puzzle solving experience.

I've only played two games from this series. It has some limitations. The theme was great but the puzzles were not

A bit on the repetitive side, decent puzzles but limited in range.

Absolutely recommended if you can get your hands on it for a reasonable price. The game is completely resettable, and you can play with more than one person if you want but it's best single playier.
The Leopold Trilogy: Episode 3 - The Fate of Leopold
50 Clues
Escape room
Tabletop
This series is definitely not for everyone. You play as a child abuser which is intentionally disturbing. I'm not saying they are promoting it by any means, but if you can get passed that the puzzles are interesting. However they're not like typical puzzles where you don't need any special knowledge or skills (e.g. mathematical unit conversion). The hints aren't too helpful for this either, but will show you how to get the solution while also showing you the solution, instead of just giving you the information to figure it out yourself.

Maria Trilogy: Episode 3 - Keepers of Evil

Escape room

This series is definitely not for everyone. It's easier to recommend this one over the Maria trilogy because instead of playing as a child abuser you're playing as a police officer to catch them. It's slightly less disturbing but still very much so. It's the same kind of which are often well done.
