Call of the AncientEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLFun room, if I'm being honest, for the price point the room is a little basic. The flow of the puzzles was very linear so our group really didn't have to split up for very long. The story was very surface level, so there really isn't much to comment on. This is just me being picky, but the actor in the pre-game video was very obviously reading from a script off screen so I was never fully immersed in the world. I enjoyed how they used the space to make us crawl but can easily see how people could get stuck spending lots of time in there. We played as a group of 4 and the puzzles weren't that hard for us. Only a few logic puzzles, mostly finding numbers and inserting them into locks. Quite a bit of reading but not so much that we were spending too much time on it. We would have easily ended up as the first place on the leaderboard if we opted for the "enthusiast mode" as we only used 2 clues. There was a point when a door locked us into a small space on accident which ended up losing us a few minutes right at the end. I don't want to dog on the game master but it took far too long to reopen that door. They also didn't mention it at all. I'm not going to say don't come here because you SHOULD support small family owned escape rooms, I just was hoping for more considering the price.
