Journal 29Journal29Escape roomTabletopA classic I devoured in a single sitting. I find its use of the book as a medium pretty innovative in a way; and despite sometimes needing the forum hints (without which some puzzles are blind, as no signposting is often present), the clever use of external material and the continuous link to previous solutions is what makes the strongest point of Journal29, imo.
Notes from Beyond [Outdoor]Garipalli - BergamoEscape roomOther Great way of getting to know the Upper Town of Bergamo aka its historical part. Fun and even engaging with the local shops!
AlcatrazEscape Zone CurnoEscape roomIRLWhile not an award-worthy escape, I hold Alcatraz pretty dearly in my heart both because of the different version of the handcuffed beginning, and because of two particular props in the last room which set the atmosphere well and give a glimpse of the technological ability of the Masters. Recommended if you're around and looking for a medium-easy escape!
Area 51Escape Room Bergamo - CronosEscape roomIRLFun execution of a concept that could easily go in vain... loved the final room! Good variety of riddle categories and fun starting requirement (nothing new but always fun, in my opinion), despite a bit out of topic. The only downside is that the introductive plot is never explained enough - or loudly enough on the intercom!
L’inferno Di Dante [Dante's Hell]Escape Room Bergamo - CronosEscape roomIRLI may be a sucker for the theme, but it also was an enjoyable experience! Scenography of better quality compared to some others in the city, most riddles were lock-average, but one was definitely more enlightening tech-wise and a refreshing novelty to see. Staff was competent and nice!
Psycho HospitalEscape Room Bergamo - CronosEscape roomIRLThis is the hardest of the three in Chronos Bergamo and in my opinion also the least interesting escape-wise. A couple of jumpscares (one even tasteless or out of plot? up to the players to decide), a good starting ploy, but nothing extraordinary. The technology not working despite us correctly solving the puzzles slowed us down three different times... and it gets annoying after a while. Otherwise okay.
Piazza Fontana: Chronicle of a Massacre [Outdoor]Garipalli - MilanEscape roomOther A touching educational game about a dark page of the history of Milan. Great transposition in gamification without losing narrative power. Kudos!
The Bequest of CarraraGaripalli - BergamoEscape roomOther My first Garipalli! Strongly suggest to start it with plenty of time to also enjoy the museum and not to rush through the riddles. Great indoor experience!
The Vampire of the Bergamasque [Outdoor]Garipalli - BergamoEscape roomOther All set in the Lower Town in Bergamo, fun and engaging, the riddles are innovative (but I'd strongly suggest to bring scissors)!
Per Aspera ad Astra [Outdoor]Garipalli - PaduaEscape roomOther We chose to take our time to tour the city and not rush it through (and we had a planned visit in between). Still a great experience even without the adrenaline rush. Also, not knowing the city of Pauda doesn't complicate the adventure, as everything relevant is given, and the rest can be solved (like a riddle!)
