The Amsterdam Catacombs

The experience starts the moment you ring the doorbell... and that already sets the mood. I really appreciated that you get the chance to use the restroom before the “investigation” begins (and again afterwards). Also, the staff member mentioned it’s better to wear fewer layers since it can get warm inside, very true! Luckily, I had a T-shirt under my sweater. I went with my husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, and before you know it, you’re completely drawn into the story. The atmosphere, the set design, the mystery, and the creepy factor are all incredibly well done. Such an intense and awesome experience! It definitely helps to have a good puzzle-solver in your group. I’m not the best at puzzles myself, but I still managed to contribute. All in all, a fantastic experience, well thought out and full of attention to detail. Highly recommended if you enjoy immersive and thrilling escape rooms!

An underrated room - everything is just solid and heaps of fun, from the detailed and antique set design to the REAL underground location to the seamless flow and solid narrative frame. This room deserves more praise than some highly technology- and engineering-dependent names whose names circulate internationally.

Creepy fun abounds! I was worried about how scary it would be but it was wonderfully immersive but not emotionally scarring (lol). Highly recommend if you want a spooky environment with great actors and interesting puzzles. Chandler and Dalia were phenomenal hosts from start to finish.

Great experience, very immersive! actors and a story buildup. Different kinds of puzzles, some crawling and tighter spaces involved.

I played this room with the wrong expectations and, unfortunately, I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed. So I’d like to set the right expectations for future players going into this experience. It is a unique concept, and I can appreciate it for what it is. Light spoilers ahead: The gameplay area is actually very small, one of the smallest rooms I’ve done in the Netherlands. A large portion of the experience is dedicated to onboarding and story-building, which is done very well, but the buildup isn’t quite balanced with the payoff. I also expected it to be a scary experience with actors, which definitely made me nervous since I’m usually the scared one in the group. Don’t get me wrong the actors do a fantastic job, but the scary moments can be counted on one hand. Tho there is a solo moment for one of the players that I personally found quite uncomfortable. Even though it wasn’t the intense horror escape room I was expecting, I was still able to appreciate the unique gameplay concept, strong acting, and cool location.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Amsterdam Catacombs right from the start before you even enter the gate. The actors Orchidea & Dalia were fantastic and made the experience immersive. Puzzles were good but its more for the atmosphere, theming, actors and storyline. Definitely recommend a visit.

I usually prefer games packed with complex (or creative) puzzles -- not the case here, but what this game lacks in puzzling, it makes up for in experience and set -- and in several unforgettable high-octane moments. Highly recommend even for the skiddish (it's seriously NOT that bad!, thia game is more laughs and giggles than screams of terror. MINOR SPOILER One note: it is well known that there's a "split" of sorts. You can choose how things are split...and I had told everyone ahead of time the "one" was me. In my opinion, the split was WORSE than I was warned about (and not because it's scary). Happy to answer questions on socials to help you decide whether you're up for it. There's a trick to it that I wish I'd figured out 30 seconds sooner than I did :)
