The Four Kingdoms are in grave danger as the Eternal Winter looms and once the sun sinks below the horizon, the dead will revolt. An ancient prophecy states that The Four Kingdoms can only be united by a true king who can bring the lost powers of each kingdom together. It’s up to you to uncover the artefacts and save the kingdoms’ people before the great cold descends on humanity.

As far as Strike rooms that I’ve played, Four Kingdoms was a pleasant surprise with some well designed puzzles, a good flow and surprisingly little that frustrated us. Most puzzles felt pretty intuitive though a little more signposting never goes astray in a room like this. I can imagine some of these puzzles being rather challenging for a more beginner team, but nothing that felt impossible. Classic little Strike inescapables like wear and tear and a distinct lack of story development but you get what you pay for. Also we saved Five Kingdoms, I’d call that overachieving.

A surprisingly solid room from Strike, Four Kingdoms had plenty of fun moments with a well-dressed, clean set and fun array of physical puzzles. Although the story was pretty generic, it was still an interesting enough space where it didn’t matter all that much. Plenty of multi-linearity to engage bigger groups but not really enough content to make up the 50 minutes, pretty common theme with the bowling alley/escape room combo but then again these are usually designed and better suited to beginners. A couple of tech hiccups along the way but still one of the best you’ll find across Strike’s multiple venues.
