Pretty solid tabletop escape game. The art is quite good. The story is nothing special, but it’s functional. The puzzles are largely good. There’s nothing spectacular or standout here, but it’s all pretty solid 4/5

No spoilers: Wow. I’m new to boxes puzzle games like this and I am hooked - this blew me away. I completed it with my family (3 teenagers) over the course of 3 days. Each section took us 2, 2, 3 hours, so 7 hours total. With 5 of us playing around a table, it was a little clunky at times but we’d swap puzzles when one (or a pair working together) got stuck. If I was doing it by myself, it would have taken much longer. We had so many “oooh wow!” moments and excitement when we’d finally get unstuck on some challenging parts. Usually it only took another family member noticing something that we missed to propel us forward. The physical elements of the game were amazing - and uncovering how each worked in the story so satisfying. I am sad it’s over and I can’t wait to play more of the Post Curious games. I’ve already ordered the rest!

One of the best of the best when it comes to tabletop puzzle games. Beautifully drawn and crafted game materials, a storyline that ends far from where it begins, and incredibly satisfying puzzles that solve elegantly. The game is broken up into three chapters, so it’s easy to put down and pick back up again. A must play in tabletop puzzle solving!

This is a beautiful game with well designed and realistic components. The puzzles range from medium difficult to head scratchers with fun ‘a-ha!’ moments! We played as a group of 4 and everyone had something to do throughout the game. It took about 3-4 sessions to finish it.

➕Beautiful and fantastic components. There's a reason why the game is priced so high. ➕Lots of puzzles. There is a large amount of puzzling to be had within this game, with many of them being varied in all sorts of ways. ➕Good signposting. They're obvious enough that you won't mistake it as fluff but subtle enough that it does not straight up give you the answer. ➕Decent hint & solutions sytem. Multiple hints are given for each puzzle. My only criticism would be the method of revealing the hints are rather outdated. ➖Cursive handwritting. While it adds to the immersion, it does make it more difficult to read what the letters are saying. ✖️A bit too difficult for me. Some of the puzzles went over my head, requiring me to head to the hints section a tad too often. I would recommend playing with at least 2 players to avoid this issue. Emerald Flame is a really well made game. While it leans heavily into the puzzly side compared to its story and theme, it does have some beautiful and thought provoking puzzles.
