The Brain Experiment [prev. The Institute]

OMG! This room was perfect! From the moment you walk into the room you are part of the story and what an amazing story you have entered. The story is melded with the set as well all of the puzzles. The setting is rich and gives you so much to absorb. I wish I could go back in a read through all of the Easter Eggs included in the pieces. The puzzles were a great mix of complexities. I especially loved the feeding puzzle. Adorable attention to detail. While in the room, I hated the last puzzle simply because I went into panic mode and freaked out. Looking back, I realized it was amazing puzzle and I would love to watch another group attempt to complete it. All in all, this has become my new Trapology favorite.

Pretty easy room so don’t go with a large group. Finished easily with two seasoned people. Fun theme and enjoyed ourselves. Price was very steep for private but no way this room is fun if someone random joins in.

We broke a record in this room! This was easily our favorite room of all time. The puzzles were relatively straightforward while still being challenging, some nods were made to the overall theme of the room in a kind if meta-recognition, and we made it through the room as just two players using no hints or pushes from our GM with 19 minutes left in our round. The game was incredible, and the ending scene actually made both of us a little bit emotional. Great game all-around, and in my opinion would be a PERFECT first game for anyone who wanted to learn about the world of escape rooms.

Challenging and super duper close attention to detail is required. Probably needed another 15 minutes.

The intro was promising, but quickly turned into a bunch of busywork logic puzzles. The theme alone couldn’t carry the room.

This room emphasizes its Portal style humor above all else. Found the on boarding process to be funny and engaging but once the experiment began it quickly become a downhill slog. Heavily dependent on dense logic puzzle timekiller set pieces. Underclued and hard to recommend

Creative scientist themed . Hard to explain this room. Worth doing and not scary.

Excellent room. Lots of fun unique puzzles, and a well crafted narrative with sprinkles of comedy. Theming was also top class.

This has honestly become one of my favorite games. I know others may not agree, but the flow is beautiful, the puzzles are inventive and fun, and this game is HILARIOUS. It’s probably the funniest game I’ve played, and never really takes itself too seriously. The scenery is a bit bland, but that’s not the focus of the game. Your guide is funny and likeable, and there’s a lot of diversity in puzzle types. The soundtrack is perfect, too. And I’ve mentioned this, but this is definitely a comedy game. And it’s really, REALLY funny. I love this game.
