Catching Capone

Rating: 4/5 - Easily the best Speakeasy/Capone room I've played, it's puzzle heavy with strong theming throughout Why this room is great: ➕Very high quality set with tons of details and it was decorated floor to ceiling. ➕Every prop and puzzle fit the theme ➕Multiple rooms to discover ➕Puzzles were fun and satisfying, with a good variety ➕Nice amount of tech mixed with mechanical locks. ➕Very puzzle heavy, so you'll be busy over the 90min, but nothing was too difficult or unfair, some layering to the puzzles. ➕Some non-linearity so you don't all have to work on the same puzzles ➕The audio, voice-over, and lighting effects added to the immersion ➕Lighting was sufficient, no flashlights needed ➕Good observation skills required ➕GM was friendly and helpful when needed While not what I'd consider a top level TERPECA room since it doesn't do anything innovative or particularly unique, it is still a wonderful experience and worth driving a couple hours here to play this and Tut. I personally preferred Tut because I like the more fantastical set but I liked the puzzles more in Capone. I'd recommend a team of 2-4 enthusiasts.

This game was SOOO fun!!! Played it around the time when it first opened and it is honestly one of the best rooms I’ve ever played. Room design is PHENOMENAL- SO IMMERSIVE AND DETAILED!! The room is so well thought out even down to the lighting- it’s not blinding but not too dim so it just elevates the whole experience. No complaints, 10/10 would play again 👠

90 minute room. Aesthetics and design were top notch. Sort of felt like a Universal Studios ride. The first room/puzzles were a bit difficult but once we got rolling, it was really fun. This was my favorite room of the bunch. Puzzles weren't too difficult in the main room.

One of my favorite rooms in the US EVER!!! The theming was so fun and they did amazing with the set design. Puzzles were awesome and was great for group of two. A must visit!!!

I will happily do ALL the rooms at this venue. This one was fantastic. There are touches we have never seen despite having done about 40 escape rooms. Creative and fun. The props seem to be bespoke and quite specific to this game. Absolutely loved it.

Have done 3 Capone themed rooms now, and this one is definitely the best of the 3. Great room and venue!

I need to preface this review by saying this was the game that started it all for me so I'm probably pretty biased. That being said, I have done 50+ rooms now and I am still fairly confident this room holds up. I think I was pretty lucky to get this as my first room, I don't know if I would have fallen in love with escape rooms if I had started with a bad room. There are some very fun reveals and I think the puzzles are unique and fair. XScape does some nice custom sound/lighting work and the staff are always fantastic. Highly recommend.

Really liked this room! We went in as a group of 2 so I was a little unsure but we got out with plenty of time left! We made the mistake of not doing our usual inventory check when we get in the room so that cost of some time but we made up for it!

Absolutely fantastic game. The set was incredible and the puzzles were a blast. There were hardly any manual locks. And the room is huge!

Fantastic game and fantastic set. This one was medium difficulty but super enjoyable. In close to 100 games played, I t has things in it I really have not seen elsewhere. Certainly on par with the Tut game in both production and gameplay.
