This was my least favorite escape room of over 40 that I’ve done at this point. Not only is the room itself poorly planned, but there really isn’t a story. I find it incredibly frustrating that they’re giving you some thing at the beginning, that is technically a list, but that list doesn’t actually mean anything. You do need it throughout the game, but the order that you need it in doesn’t make any sense. Even within a given paragraph, it might be end, beginning, middle. As far as when you use it. Which doesn’t make any sense. The story doesn’t flow at all, a lot of the puzzles don’t do anything, so you spend time solving them, only to find that they don’t relate to anything at all.
Also, no mics in the room is insane, walkie-talkie only means the GM can’t step in to let you know you just have to pull way, way, way harder.
I’ve also never had to use my phone in a game, that’s super weird and unnecessary.
Incredibly frustrating. There were tons of red herrings, poor design, and out of order puzzles and clues. You basically need a large group to all be working on separate parts of this at the same time. Also, there’s one part that we thought we were actually breaking the room doing, so we ignored it. And it’s really frustrating that the game master can’t hear you to be able to help you with that kind of thing
Staff was okay. This is the harshest late policy I’ve ever seen though, even though we were late, it was noticeable because it’s so harsh. GM seemed a little over it.
Particularly interesting or different
No
Just super frustrating, it doesn’t flow at all and you have to basically break the room for a few puzzles.
What story? Technically, there is a story. They even give you a story at the beginning. But it’s frustrating and it does not follow any logical pattern.
It’s only super hard because a lot of the different pieces don’t flow, and also you have to be willing to break it.
There was a piece that was jammed in, so we thought that there was a magnetic lock in play. There wasn’t, we just had to pull significantly harder than we had been willing to. There was another lock that looks like it was supposed to follow a pattern, but we didn’t use that. Also, I would consider the cipher in the room to be broken.
