10 escape rooms
The room was linear so you would have to finish a puzzle in order to move to the next. I liked that it was obvious which puzzle we needed to work on and which puzzle to move to next. The method of switching between puzzles was very repetive, not challenging, and kind of boring. The website advertized that the average escape time was 50 minutes, but the room itself had a 70 minute time limit. What was irritating and spoiled my entire experience was that each individual puzzle was timed. This means that if you quickly move through puzzles you don't get any extra time to spend on any individual puzzle. One of the puzzles required some addition and as we were adding numbers, we made a mistake and noticed immediately that we needed to add again, but the puzzle ended and the game moved us onto the puzzle. We just needed another moment. This ruined my whole experience and I was not interested in playing anymore.
Gameplay
It flowed well, but time limits on individual games made it no fun. I do not enjoy hints without asking for them or time limits on individual puzzles. I prefer one overall time limit where we can go through the puzzles at our own pace. That way we can budget our time to move quickly through easy puzzles and spend more time on harder puzzles.
Atmosphere
Set design was ok.
Customer service
GM was ok. She made us comfortable, but she was not very enthusiastic.
