Pros. GM was welcoming and kind, and asked about our hint preferences. There was a live actor for some parts, they were clearly having a fun time themselves, which always adds to the atmosphere. The atmosphere was awesome and super immersive. The concept was unique -- definitely had never seen anything similar. Great mix of parallel play and teamwork. There is one scary moment, but it's just one, and you could probably tell your GM to switch it up if that would be a problem for your group. Cons. The place is challenging to find, and parking in the area is a dumpster fire -- consider taking an Uber, and leave yourself a ton of time. The place also requires going down stairs, and this specific game involves crawling, so not ideal for those using a wheelchair. Some of the puzzles are fiddly -- i.e. you've done it right, but the items need to be oriented juuuuust so for the mechanism to work.

What an immersive escape room! What this room does well is its gameplay, storytelling, hint system, non-linear puzzles, and use of storybook characters. We had such a great time in this escape room! We played with a team of 2, and it was difficult for how many puzzles there were to complete. A lot of the puzzles required teamwork and collaboration, so I would recommend a team of 4 or more. Overall, this was one of Washington state’s best escape rooms thus far! It’s beautifully crafted with storytelling and immersion, and I’m looking forward to playing their other rooms.

The game play was so interactive and fun! The hint system was genius and so creative with the storytelling and gameplay. There were quite a decent amount of puzzles where dividing and conquering would be the best way to complete this room for how many various puzzles there were. Everything made sense and was very smooth.

Atmosphere

The set design was impressive. I truly enjoyed the immersion and you can tell that a lot of hard work, dedication, and creativity went into this escape room. From the props, costume piece, set design, hint system, immersive storytelling, and character, you feel like you are in the fairytale itself.

Customer service

The staff was very interactive and friendly from the front desk to the escape room game. Our GameMaster was a lot of fun and engaging. She stayed in character the entire time, and played along with the story.

Parking

Limited

It’s located in a busy business center/small downtown merchandise area, so parking may be limited. I would recommend finding a parking garage or nearby parking area and walking to the escape room location.

Storykeeper is one of those rare rooms where you feel like you’re being drawn to a fantasy world and you forget that you’re playing a game. I know escape rooms aspire for this immersion but Storyteller actually executes this transition. There was one physical puzzle that took us a while to do but other than that, the other puzzles were intuitive. The live acting kept us emotionally invested - it would not have been the same experience otherwise and they administer hints in such fun ways that you have to interact with them. If you’re looking for a room with the right amount of theater, precision of puzzles, and production value, come to Locurio’s Storykeeper!

One of my all-time favorite rooms. Live actors done well in an escape room setting is peak ER experience IMO and this one is no exception. Perhaps this being my first live actors ER made it that much more impressionable. Lots of puzzles, twists in the story. Thrills and surprises. Really loved this one and even gifted it to a friend who was getting married (we were in town for a wedding). Can’t recommend it enough!

I rate this room a 5/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). The set/theme including the live actor was 2 pts for me. I especially enjoyed the unique way they administered hints in the room. I felt like I was immersed in a fantastical storybook (an unexpected twist)! The puzzles were fun with a few novel ones I hadn't yet seen. They incorporated the theme well and the room was pretty linear which I prefer. A good variety of puzzles including locks, mechanical and technical types. I give the puzzles 2 pts as well. I rate my enjoyment 2 pts which brings the score to a 5 (well, technically a 6 but my rating system only goes to 5 so back off! 😝). I really enjoyed this room. It was fun, whimsical and unexpected!
