Deep in the woods of Pennsylvania resides an abandoned cabin haunted with the spirits of those who used to inhabit the residence. The innocent Jones family did not know what they were getting themselves into when they purchased the cabin in 1962, because little did they know it still contained the presence of a witch exiled from her convent for the practice of Black Magic. The Jones family realized very early on that something was not right in this cabin when strange occult symbols began to appear on the furniture and the walls. After visiting a local warlock, he instructed the family to find the object in the cabin that the witch had attached herself to, draw a symbol of magic, and place the relic inside of the powerful incantation. Before the spell was completed, the mysterious family disappeared. Not a lot is known about what happened to the family on that night, but no living soul has returned to tell the tale since! It is now your duty to enter this once inhabited cabin and collect the possessed artifact and return them to the circle of magic to repel the witch’s spirit once and for all and escape this haunted cabin!

Janet was very welcoming and friendly, and recommended this room to our group. However there were a few elements about the room that stopped this from being a great experience for us. It appears that they have made attempts to adapt this room, which is awesome, but unfortunately when we played there were a few elements from past puzzles that are still present and it causes a great deal of confusion and adds a significant layer of difficulty to the room that does not appear to be intentional.

Gameplay
Atmosphere

The set and props were okay, but they are getting pretty worn out though.

Customer service

Janet was super friendly, and very welcoming.

Hard

This is advertised as their hardest room, which makes sense, but IMO it’s not necessarily due to clever or unique puzzles unfortunately.

Was anything broken?

Yes

There was two puzzles that apparently were used in the past but are no longer relevant. At the time of playing these puzzles were still present and were the source of much confusion and time wasted for our team.

We are a very experienced escape room team and found The Witch’s Cabin to be an acceptable room but not extraordinary. With good or excellent rooms we usually book a second room as soon as we walk out of the first, but none of us felt it would be worth exploring a second room at this venue. Positives: lots and lots of locks, so very satisfying for groups with kids who each want to be the one to open a lock. Reasonable atmosphere. Negatives: lots of symbols (different alphabets), and at least one symbol had different meanings at different times. The room seems a little worn out right now (symbols worn or wearing off, broken props).

Great, fun room! We did it comfortably with two people, good flow for date night or a small group. Maybe my favorite room of theirs, but I love the creative approach they take and their friendly attitudes across every room.

I haven't really done enough to know what's 'different', but I'd never seen some of these puzzles

Scary

Spooky

Scary themed, but nothing scary I couldn't handle (I really don't like haunted houses, and this was totally fine). Would recommend even if you don't like scary stuff.

Standing/walking, stopping, peering, some carrying

Accessibility

Can complete without hearing (captioned intro). It would be useful for someone in your party to walk, see, be able to work locks, open and retrieve/carry things in their hands. But I'm sure they could accommodate

Overall incredibly linear and difficult room but recommended if passing through!

Gameplay

Gameplay was standard- puzzles fit theme but were difficult and the connection between puzzles was choppy.

Atmosphere

Set design surpassed my expectations! Simplistic but detailed!

Customer service

Loved the staff! Family owned business and very sweet!

Story

Story had no relevance to puzzles- just gave the audience a backstory to the room to add to aesthetic.

Difficulty

Hard

Nature of puzzles made the room linear in a poor way. Cleverly thought out but also seemed misleading or somewhat unfair.

Game tech

Interesting way to put it- had both technical puzzles and also standard lock and key and numericals.

Ideal number of players

3

Have enough players to bring different perspectives to the room- but also keep it small due to confined room space.

Scary

Spooky

Atmosphere was spooky- no jumpscares so don’t worry about scare!

Minimum age

One of our party members was 6, and she needed to step out.

Was anything broken?

Yes

Things seemed broken but were fine. Definitely a room built with a dream so not necessarily a neat room. 😅

Two rooms, minimal walking between them.

Easy to find location

Yes

Medium- in rental building in neighborhood

Parking

Limited

Not big parking space. Also parking spaces unclear as it was gravel
