You spent nearly every school break in the 90s at your family’s cabin. When you weren't fishing, skiing, or raising your Tamagotchi, you and your cousins were playing Nintendo. After reading that a copy of your family's go-to Nintendo game just sold for nearly a Bitcoin, you realize the family's copy of the game should still be at the cabin. Unfortunately, your cousins realized the same thing too. Now it's a race to claim the cartridge! Will you get there first or will your efforts be as worthless as a Beanie Baby?

This is a fun, family friendly game. Loved the retro theme, which is why I picked it to begin with. Definitely not scary at all, though there is one slightly startling moment that’s kinda amusing. The sets were really cool and looked great. The only negative is that it is very heavy on locks. I can’t remember the last time I played one with so many locks. Overall a good one for those who want a game that isn’t scary at all.
Not novel but flowed well

This was a fun room! I played with three other adults with varying statistics - this was my 28th room (23W - 5L). I really liked the theme and puzzles; we definitely needed multiple brains to see tasks from different points of view and because there were so many tasks. I liked that the room was mostly non-linear and filled with lots of mechanical locks (which I prefer). Some of the tasks made me laugh too! We have played all four games at Quicksand and this one might be my favorite.
The decorations were great, well maintained, and funny because they were so in theme. The story flowed well.
The props and games were great - well maintained and in theme. The timer was easy to see throughout the game.
Our GM was very friendly and offered a few hints (which we appreciated).
Yes
I haven't encountered a decade-themed room yet, so I found this room very fun (and funny).
It was a memorable plot with all decorations and puzzles in theme
Hard
We have played all four games at Quicksand (I think they are all hard). I think Chinatown was the hardest (we failed).
Mechanical
I like mechanical locks / puzzles so this room was perfect for me.
4
Four players with moderate experience would be ok (20-ish successes) or five players with fewer game experiences. The room might be too crowded if you have more than five players.
Not scary
The room is well lit, funny, and not scary at all.
10
The room is ok for any age, but a 10 year old might have a better attention span.

Thank goodness!
Somewhat
There is a lot of walking around but nothing physically demanding.
I think a wheelchair might fit in the room, but a player would need to have hearing, vision, and color ability.

This was a fun Gen 2 room (mostly Gen 1). We were able to do it with 3 but maybe a 4th player would help because there’s a lot to do. The challenging part was figuring out what puzzle we were solving because there’s a lots of clues you find early on. I think this room would work better if it was non- linear.
Linear. A bit confusing what to work on with all the clues
Host was late but he was nice
Hard
Challenging with smaller group sizes. There’s a lot

Didn’t beat this the first time, so I had to go back and get it done. Fun and immersive room!

We were a group of seven with various ages which was perfect for this room! Everyone brought some experience to this room. The nostalgia was great for those who experienced it, but still fun for the younger generation. This room was not elaborate or high tech but the puzzles were pretty fun and really clever.

FUN!!!!! is the best description of this room. The set is average, but the puzzles and nostalgia were wonderful. This room could handle a little bit larger group as there were multiple puzzles to work on at once. Getting to watch someone do the Macarena to solve a puzzle is priceless.
FUN!
The set is average, nothing spectacular, but not horrible.
Meghan was awesome and was the GM for the first 3 of the 4 games we played.
Yes
It was very nostalgic for us old farts and we had a ton of fun.
Easy
Our group of 3 got through quickly with no hints, but we didn’t feel like we wasted out time or money. It was fun and we were just killing it in this room.

3-5 is probably best.

Not at all
Except for one small space that only requires a single player, it is very accessible for folks with mobility issues.
Limited
Street parking with meters. We played 4 games back to back and had to feed the meter periodically.

Room #200! Great way to ring in a big round number. Did it with the usual team and also had Jessica Penne hop in yet again. Quicksand is always great… they haven’t missed yet.

Super interesting room, found it tough to get going but once we got moving it flowed well. Lots of locks and lots of puzzles. Only thing I didn’t love is that it was super linear but a big space, it would’ve helped for multiple puzzles to be solved simultaneously. One puzzle IMO did not work as intended and slowed us way down for a reason I feel was not on us, but other than that everything made sense!
