So, FYI we finished the room (escaped) but not the optional side quest, although we came within one puzzle of finishing the side quest. So I am not counting the side quest in our escape time. We had fun playing this room and the puzzles were creative and interesting; it was fun to have more to do than just look for keys to unlock things. Also, the GM was incredibly friendly, helpful, and very polite. My only criticisms are that there are so many things to find and hard to keep them all organized because the room is small. We had a hard time keeping props we used separate from props we no longer needed as there was not a lot space to put things as we found them. Also, just a personal thing, but there were quite a few items that seemed like you needed them but you actually did not (red herrings). I find those to be incredibly frustrating because it doesn’t help you move toward the goal and disrupts the flow of the game. I know some people don’t mind them, but for me, I prefer a more straightforward approach that is challenging but doesn’t create unnecessary confusion.

The room is a bit small, so any more than 4 people would be very crowded

The only way to the escape room as far as we could see is down the stairs and would not accommodate someone with mobility issues. Also a bit more light would be helpful; I don’t think it would take anything away from the room’s ambience if it had a bit more light.

But only if you arrive in the dark—it’s probably easier to spot in the day time.
