A voice sounds over the tannoy system “We are experiencing some extreme turbulence. Please remain calm and stay seated". This doesn’t feel like any normal turbulence and you cannot suppress the rising panic you feel deep within the pit of your stomach. You glance toward the lady beside you and she seems to have turned grey. Her eyes stare straight ahead, unblinking in fear. A sharp pull nearly knocks you out of your seat. Another harsh bump lurches you into the window. Suddenly, the oxygen masks drop from above you… which triggers an unnerving panic throughout the plane. All of a sudden, there is a forceful push and the plane begins to swiftly descend. Staring out of the window at the wing which is now in flames and billowing smoke. You cannot believe what you are seeing. The plane is shaking mercilessly now and a sinking realisation sets in... this could be the end. Screams plead out around you! You are rocketing towards the ground. You desperately fumble with the oxygen mask before a complete blackout!! When you awake, your limbs are almost frozen numb. Your eyelids flitter and the pain hits you all at once. You slowly move to sit up and look around you. The plane is but a crumpled wreck in the snow and bodies surround you... no signs of life anywhere. The blizzard is thick and the cold is bitter to the bone. Survival is the only thing on your mind. You must figure out a way to establish communication and signal for help, but first you must find out where exactly you have landed... Hurry, before hypothermia sets in and your very life escapes you!

Good spacious room, bright in the large spaces. Was looking forward to theme of the room, not something seen before. Set design was ok, especially to make it have very high and low areas. Snow machine clearly wasn’t working properly after it was attempted after 30 minutes, left us all coughing actually, very weird. Overall the room was very basic, needed to be filled more with other parts, too much space really, no real reason why things were where they were, loved the hatch part, but some signage to set a theme as to what this hatch was meant for in a story would have made some sense and that is repeated in other parts too, and then inside only having one thing to solve and done. Unfortunately the more I think about it I’m more disappointed, especially with how much space was there to use, I think the story lacked, some puzzles didn’t match a snow theme, and not sure why shoes needed to be off as it was just a white outdoor style carpet, I’d assumed it was to be soft under foot.
Was ok and mostly linear
Set design was ok, I see what they’ve tried to achieve in there, definitely some good elements, overall it was very spacious. Snow machine was attempted about half hour in, made a loud noise while running, not sure it did too much.
This venue felt a bit more business like than customer based. We were made to wait for our room, told to fill in lap top and left to it, and then shared a briefing with another room. We do love our chats with GM’s of other rooms that take an interest in our history and how we work, we were only asked how we’d want any clues. One thing that was mentioned about colour number padlock and it was described how you may need to count something of a colour to get this (which is exactly the circumstance that we had to do) and didn’t need that prompt, especially based on lack of conversation prior.

Imagine, you enter the mountainous area where a plane has crashed & as you remove your blindfold you can feel the snow falling on your face! Yes, really! The set on this is vast & sparsely decorated with just a few key pieces & props and it’s unusual as you have access to most of the set right from the beginning. We were scratching our heads as we seemed to have looked at everything & just couldn’t see what came next. Again, it’s not as puzzle heavy as some of their rooms (a bit of a relief after DOA!) but the tasks you need to do differ from stuff we’ve seen anywhere else & the theming is awesome. You need to be very mobile to do this room & despite the snowy theme we both remarked that we were physically sweating from all the running around we did! It feels like a bold move to have opened a room like this, but that gamble will hopefully pay off as it’s simply brilliant.
It’s called 46 below for a reason! You’ll enter blindfolded & you’ll feel the chill…
