If you are looking for a horror room in Calgary, this is the one! Trapped has large rooms and sets, and all have had a great level of immersion. Jack the Ripper built anticipation really well, and all of the rooms helped you get more and more into the story, leading up to an exciting ending. The use of the live actor was great, and it's nice to know how much effort they put into giving you a good (Scary!) experience. One of our team members accidentally through a prop at the live actor out of fright, and they handled it great, even taking pride in scaring someone that much. The fear added to the difficulty, and the type of puzzles that Trapped employs requires more outside-of-the-box thinking that may not be catered to our group's usual strengths. The story/set was what made this experience so great and I hope to do another horror room done this well soon.

This room is very scary and immersive and we were all genuinely terrified. At times it’s hard to move on to the next room due to anticipation. I am usually not a huge fan of horror and was VERY hesitant to do this room, but am so glad that I did!! Let this be some encouragement that if you get scared easily this can still be an extremely fun and rewarding experience, especially if you go in a slightly larger group (we did 4) with your friends :) highly recommend

The most immersive and well polished room I’ve done. They’ve got you checking over your shoulder at every turn haha and was a very thoughtful and intentional room

The actor was very respectful of personal space and they have a safe word in place in case you want to scale back the horror but we never used it because it was so much fun. The actor really made the experience for us and was so terrifying and fun

This room has stuck with me even though I did it more than a year ago. It is definitely one of my favourites. The live actor added another level of immersion. The rooms were so detailed, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into its design. Genuinely a terrifying experience.

Gameplay

The puzzles flowed well and stuck to the theme.

The set was VERY immersive. I was shaking the whole time from being scared. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this room.

There are a lot of escape rooms that claim to be scary, but this one deserves that label. I don’t think I get scared easily, but this room was so immersive and terrifying.

Story

This plot is definitely memorable, and the puzzles make sense with the storyline.

The puzzles were not too difficult, however, it is definitely hard to focus when you are constantly looking over your shoulder to not get jumpscared by the actor (in a good way).

It’s about Jack the Ripper, so yeah, it’s gonna be a pretty gory. Be prepared for blood, bodies, rats, and more. Definitely not kid friendly.

There is a live actor trying to scare you, and this adds so much more intensity to the experience. There is a safe word you can say to get the actor to stop scaring you if it becomes too much to handle.

It might be because we were scared, but me and my group were running out of fear. You can definitely do it while walking if you’re not scaredy-cats like my group was.

Accessibility

There is one portion where you have to crouch down a bit to progress to the next room. There is also a short ladder to climb at one point, though not everyone needs to do this as it is not an access point to another room.

Absolutely loved this room. It was not overly difficult, but the theme and story were great. Got a bit scary at times, but this makes it more fun. Highly recommend. Live actor interactions is icing on the cake. Don’t turn them down, you will be missing out.

Clear and straight forward. Good flow with some parallel puzzles.

The production value of this room was very high. A lot of effort went into this one.

Staff were great. Clearly explained important aspects of the rooms without giving anything away.

Very nice sets with a variety of puzzles. The live actor elements definitely added to the suspense and scare factor. Some puzzles were not necessarily broken, but were acting up and made things taken longer than they needed to.
