Great production values and design. Our experienced team of 2 finished with 5 minutes remaining. Nothing felt wonky or overly convoluted. Will definitely go back!

Doable with 2 veterans, but would need at least 4 if less experienced.

This was my first submarine themed escape room, and 2nd room for Escape Games. I was pleased to try a different theme, but as one friend pointed out, "space and submarines are basically the same, open the door and you die." That said, the aesthetics were great, puzzles and flow were solid, props looked sharp, everything worked well. The staff was excellent, very friendly and engaging. Our game master was Hyde, but we also interacted with two front desk people who were also lovely. My main complaints: there's unnecessary time sinks, they provide lore, but nothing useful for the game itself. I wish we knew that instead of being riveted by this component. It's also hard to move around the first room because its so small. The Escape Game also lets you take pictures inside the room, which was a blessing for solving some puzzles, especially when there's no notepad available. I'm also very impressed with how they offer 3d tours of the rooms on their website, that's very cool. Even though Escape Games is a big chain, it doesnt play or feel that way. We had a great time and I look forward to returning!

There were subtitles on the videos which we all loved. If colorblind, I'd definitely suggest telling the staff. I suspect they have workarounds if it's important.

Easy
It was downtown DC. While I found parking easy, it wasn't peak times. I imagine it can be a major pain. Plus, it's paid parking, which was about the same cost as adding another player.

This experience was amazing!! The puzzles and games that were included were really cool and some were quite clever!! I’d recommend this game to anyone as it was so fun!! It was very technical, but that is to be expected as it is a submarine. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!!
Loved the game and all the interesting rooms added!!
Everything was really cool, especially how they decided to end the game!!
Everyone was absolutely incredible!! It was actually my birthday and the staff made a card and were genuinely just so amazing!!

Solid experience for people just getting into escape rooms or people wanting to try out a more high tech room. There are a couple puzzles that have easy solutions that are easily overlooked, so keep an eye out. On the other side, it does require a decently strong bit of coordination so if your party is a rowdy bunch, make sure you’ve got them rounded up first.
Solid puzzles. Lots of stuff that’s easily overlooked, though
Great environment and tech

Unique physical activities to be done for a couple puzzles

Rated at 7/10 on website. Would argue it could be 5/10 if a few puzzle solutions weren’t as “guessy”

Really well done. The set is really nice and I thought the puzzles were really interactive and flowed well. Cool and fun room!

Played with a group of 3, joined by 4 strangers. It played well with a large group, as there was lots of do. The theming was the most immersive I’ve seen in DC yet and the rooms very exciting. Good number of puzzles with fun/unique elements to them. Not overly linear. The ending was particularly well-structured to end on a crescendo. Best production value I’ve seen in DC so far.

Compared to the Gold Rush which is also a 7/10, this game was so much more difficult and thorough (for us). It was very fun and the the set design was super impressive and immersive. Although we were unsuccessful, we had a great time!
Challenging and thorough.
Excellent set design, special effects and props. Very impressive and immersive.
Our GM gave my partner birthday gifts and was very helpful.
Didn’t really follow the story but the set and rooms built a compelling narrative.

The Escape Game does is again! This room has a quirky interpretation of an submarine, letting me live out my Life Aquatic fantasies. Like all The Escape Game rooms, expect top notch theming, story telling, and puzzle design.

Great experience and the puzzles made sense. My only minor comment was that the final challenge was more twitch-based than I would have liked, but it fit well into the theme.
