117 escape rooms
Another outstanding Memphis Escape Room! This room was completely immersive with some unique puzzles. There were a couple of things in this room we'd never seen before. Highly recommend Lost Pyramid.
Gameplay
This room was totally immersive. It was mostly linear and moved along well. There were a couple of very unique and inventive "puzzles". It was one of the best Egyptian/pyramid rooms we've done.
Atmosphere
Outstanding set design and props. Totally immersive with a number of unique puzzles. Every puzzle fit the challenge of the specific game. Well done!
Customer service
We drove to Memphis from central AR to do 3 rooms on Saturday at the East location and 2 on Sunday at the Downtown location. Not a huge deal (other than having to travel 2.5 hours home) but the staff was late getting ours, and most other customers', rooms started. That trickled down to our second room. It may have to do with our being the first games of the day. It wasn't a big deal but it seemed like the staff was playing catch-up throughout this and our subsequent game. During gameplay our GM jumped in a couple of times before we needed or asked for help (we finished with 16+ minutes remaining). We appreciate that they tried to help but it was a little frustrating that we didn't get a chance to work things out on our own. Again, no big deal (they might have been new[er] and trying to help out a little too much).
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
Very immersive.
Story
Excellent story supported by immersive set designs and puzzles that supported the story. A couple of unique and fun twists. A really fun experience.
Difficulty
Medium
Relatively linear. The puzzles made sense and were all straightforward once we determined how to solve them.
Game tech
High tech
A few less "locks" and a little more high tech with some mechanical built in. They really take a unique approach to room design. A lot of fun.
Ideal number of players
4
The room seemed mostly linear and we played with our usual three. A fourth may have been helpful to have an extra brain to break a puzzle loose a little quicker. There is plenty of room in the room for more players.
Scary
Not scary
It's really not scary but a couple of unexpected things do happen.
Minimum age
8
Nothing offensive and the puzzles could be solved as young as 8.
Was anything broken?
Yes
Not broken, per se, but there were one or two puzzles that seemed a little worn. In two cases we'd solved the puzzle correctly, but hesitated to see if we had, only to make slight adjustments to the puzzle pieces to activate the puzzle. Minor, but it makes you hesitate for a second.
Live actors
No
Physically active
Somewhat
A lot of moving around a good sized room. There is one part that does require some physical activity (FUN & UNIQUE!).
Accessibility
Mostly wide open but there is an area that requires crawling, another that requires running, and a third that requires climbing and descending. The room is a little dark. Most puzzles are easily accessible, and a couple of the puzzles were a little worn.
Easy to find location
Yes
Parking
Easy
We parked a block away, but there was plenty of parking on a Sunday afternoon downtown.
Safety
Yes
