The Lutine is a British ship that inexplicably went down in 1799 between Vlieland and Terschelling with a huge cargo of gold on board. All that gold at the bottom of the sea has infected many divers with the gold rush. However, they were not as successful as prospectors. Three Egmond divers have changed that. With their ingenious strategy, she fished up one gold bar after another. But the gold rush has also fueled greed among the Egmonders. In order not to have to hand over half of their finds, they planned to hide the gold and resurface later unseen. We recently found the diary of one of the divers and it appears that this was never successful. Will the gold still be hidden somewhere on the ship? Imagine yourself as a real wreck diver and go in search of the alleged gold of the Lutine. But be careful not to get yourself infected with the Gold Rush!

The Gold of Lutin by Avonturium is an older room from 2017, and it does show its age. With lots of padlocks as puzzles, the design feels more traditional. We played with six players, which made it a bit crowded and difficult to work together effectively, especially given the small space. The environment was decent, and while overall it was fun, it’s not something I’d recommend for experienced players unless you’re sharing the experience with newbies. It can also be a bit challenging for beginners. One of our players was 10 years old, and they were able to contribute and have fun, making it a good option for family groups.
