Rumors have been circling around the new pie bakery on the corner of 49th street. Run by an odd couple, rumors are circulating about the origins of their unique tasting meat pies. Out of curiosity, you and your acquaintances fancy some pies and head down to the shop. You’re greeted with a strange smell and a display counter full of mouth watering pies. An eccentric lady behind the counter puts down a fresh tray of pies and welcomes you. The sharpening of knives rings out clearly from the kitchen. You order your pies, sit down to eat them, and as you all take your last bite the room goes dark. Your group wakes up in a dark and filthy basement filled with the same strange smell as earlier. Newspaper clippings of missing persons line the walls. Find a way to escape the Nightmare on 49th in this savory escape experience!

It was fun, but a lock a broken, they came and fixed it then gave us the time back. It was the main lock to get into the other room so I feel like they would’ve tested it before we came into the room but they didn’t. The puzzles felt kind of confusing, not even hard, just confusing and it made you feel lost on what puzzle to do at times.

Was anything broken?

Yes

The lock was completely broken, wasted like 5 minutes of our time and they didn’t even realize it until we assumed that it had to be broken since we tried every key. The general manager came in and completely cut off the chain and gave us the time back, apparently someone jammed the wrong key in there and broke it.

Accessibility

You need to crawl in a very small crawl hole and then you need to jam into this kind of small space where you need to figure out a couple puzzles.

Easy to find location

No

It was in Gastown, where you all of the buildings are old and they just had a little sign up there. It was cool in a way though, we had to walk up flights of stairs just to get to the escape room building, fun but kind of inconvenient.

Parking

Medium

There’s no dedicated parking and they close the streets on certain days if it’s busy so you’ll need to park a bit away then walk to the escape room.
