Fast forward to the future. Year: 2084. The past decades have been devastating on humanity, and the only thing that’s survived is an AI company called Invisicom. Recognizing that humans could never be trusted to govern themselves, Inviscom created a shiny new world and evolved to become THE superpower. Now Invisicom controls EVERYTHING. The good news is that everyone is happy. The bad news is that you don’t have a choice about it. In this new world, happiness is mandatory. Your group of Resistors believe the world shouldn’t be brainwashed by a central computer. It’s rumored that the Mother Computer herself lies in one of the “Happiness Testing Facilities” where the unhappy folks are sent. The only way to gain access is to subject yourself to the exams and risk being permanently deleted if you fail. Can you pass Invisicom’s “happiness exams” and figure out a way to crash Mother Computer’s system? Whatever you do, remember happiness is mandatory…Mother Computer has her eye on you…

Entertaining game! Linear and flows well. Uses a walkie talkie. There is no count down timer. Fun dystopian theming. One of my favorites!

Happiness is required. This room was incredibly well done and is based on one of my favorite novels: 1984 by George Orwell. The theme is pervasive and well-aligned through the entire gameplay. Easily one of our top 3 rooms (of 50)!

A good room, but some elements required multiple tries or maybe a gamemaster override. The theming was fun. There were too many puzzle options that were not unlocked, or we weren't clued as to what was available, so it became confusing at times what puzzles were completed or might have had an incorrect input.

The place: The location is steps away from the historic area of Philadelphia and if you follow the directions given on the website there should be no issue finding it. The entrance is a hallway, we buzzed the floor and were almost immediately whisked up to the game floor! The experience: The lobby has a funky vibe and is a decent enough place to chill while waiting for your game to start. I really liked the "cup head" style art that adorned the walls. Very cool. Our game master was a young lady who was very into her job, she explained all the do's and do not's of escape gaming, then gave us the story of the 2084 room. The puzzles were many and varied and we greatly enjoyed the room. We stumbled a few times as we always do, but the game master was there with a gentle nudge to keep us moving forward. I highly recommend this spot if you're an escape game fan. The bottom line: The Morty app strikes again! We were directed to this gem via that app and we were not disappointed. Look it up on your mobile platform of choice, it's a great way to find the best escape games. We highly recommend 2084 and if we lived in Philly we would likely try the other rooms in the space. Thanks for the great experience!

2084 is a standout escape room. The puzzles were incredibly unique—unlike anything we’ve seen in other escape rooms. It had a great mix of tech-based, physical, and logic puzzles, making for an exciting and dynamic experience. Teamwork is absolutely necessary, and I’d recommend wearing comfortable clothes since some of the physical elements require a bit of movement. Overall, a must-try for escape room fans!

There was a puzzle that was broken, but the GM noticed immediately and fixed it, so it didn’t take away from the experience too much.

TLDR: This escape room I’d say is above average, but some confusing puzzles, and a lacking atmosphere keeps this from truly being an amazing experience. The Good: The puzzle is where this room shine. There were a few Pezold that I thought were fun and unique, and definitely made it fun to play. I also enjoyed the fair amount of cooperative puzzles that forced the room to work together making it a great room for team building. The storyline was actually pretty good. A lot of escape room rooms skip the storyline and just do some puzzles, but I appreciate the effort to make a good story with a twist at the end The bad: Two of the puzzles felt kind of cheap on what the answer was supposed to be, and while a few of the puzzles were pretty cool and unique, there was only one thing that really stood out as a wow factor during this room, but that’s it. The decoration and atmosphere of the room was all right, I’ve definitely seen worse, but I feel like they could’ve done better as some of the props and lighting seemed a little cheap. (But let’s be real, with this in Philly. They probably need to make them cheap with how much people are messing them up)
