Die Werkstatt Des Alchemisten [The Alchemist's Workshop]

This game was pretty traditional in its type of riddles and mechanics, but I still had fun. The introduction was nice, the actor/gamemaster did a great job and the story made sense. Some of the riddles felt out of place though.

We played ‘The Alchemist’s Workshop’ as the second of the three rooms in Bad Salzuflen. Like the first room, it had a very well-executed introduction. The gamemaster was also excellent, guiding us skillfully through the game without taking away the challenge of the puzzles. The room’s design is detailed and lovingly crafted – as is the case with all the rooms in the ‘Salzufler Unterwelt’. It was great that some puzzles could be solved in parallel, so no one on our team was left standing idle. In the ranking of the Salzuflen rooms, ‘The Alchemist’s Workshop’ takes second place for us. A highly recommended escape room.

Even though this has all the charm we recognize from Salzufler Unterwelt, this room doesn't live up to the current standard of escape rooms and has in my opinion reached the end of its time.

A more traditional game that is definitely showing its age. A fun start, though we had tech issues. Of the games we played here, this one was my least favorite, a more simple set and mechanical puzzles.

Our 12th stop on our Escape Tour Germany 2024 felt reminiscent of The Witch’s Cabin in Bucharest (60 Minutes), with a strong thematic presence and some clever puzzles. One standout moment was a puzzle that triggered a Back to the Future sound effect—an unexpected but delightful touch. That said, a few puzzles felt more frustrating than challenging, which disrupted the flow and slightly impacted the overall enjoyment. We were a group of five experienced players tackling this room early in the morning, right after completing The Hidden Chamber at the same location. Despite some rough spots, the overall quality was solid, making it a worthwhile experience.

Great puzzle room with nice atmosphere.

The beginning is very different and very successful! I don't want to write more because I don't want spoilers. The point here was to find the three life-sustaining crystals for old Benedictus. Sound, light and the attention to detail in the furnishings were also absolutely appropriate here. On the way to find the crystals, you need your senses and you can use them skillfully. We had a lot of fun with the puzzles and gradually found the crystals. In this way we were able to help old Benedictus and he will thank us forever. Here, too, there was a photo in the room, which was then sent in the form of a film poster.
