You find yourself trapped in a strange Laboratory belonging to the mad scientist Dr Crowl. As you search the room, you quickly notice a bomb and a timer counting down. You also see several peculiar objects. Some you recognize, like the 3D printer pen, the burning laser or the vat of slime. Others you have no idea. They must be the key to survival, but can you figure it out in time?

Their oldest room on site, it’s a direct port from their previous location. Probably the closest one to a square-office-escape they have. All the puzzles are loosely to theme but it is VERY PUZZLE HEAVY and can be scaled to the size or speed of the team. We managed to finish the “impossible mode” (finishing all the puzzles with 2 players).

Would definitely recommend this, especially if puzzles are a main focus for you!
This is likely one of my favorite escape rooms, puzzle wise! Good flow, and so many puzzles!
Staff were amazing!

Really cool how they will tailor the number of puzzles to how many people and how fast you’re working through it.

Some aspects could be tricky but I’m sure the GM would adjust accordingly or someone else in your group can assist.

This was a great room! Very puzzle heavy. The puzzles are a Medium challenge level I’d say, but the difficulty comes from trying to complete so many puzzles with the time that you have. I really loved how they could tailor the difficulty level for your group, adding more tracks to solve if you were breezing through this room or have a larger group. I think every escape room should be like this, so that more experienced players aren’t paying full price to finish a room in half the time. We came into this as 2 experienced players and they started us with 3 of the 6 tracks since we were such a small group. Pretty quickly they added the 4th and 5th tracks because we were solving things pretty speedily. Then our GM asked us if we wanted a 6th track, but said it would be pretty tight on time. We said heck yes and made it out with only 23 seconds left!! It was the perfect challenge level for us, which made me very happy. 😃 I would highly recommend this escape room. I’ve done all 3 rooms that Brain Games offers right now and they are all so great for different reasons. You’ve got to try them all!
I really enjoyed being able to track our progress through the room by seeing all the puzzles we needed to solve on the tracking board. (I also very much appreciated not having to waste time trying one key/combo on all the locks until we found the right one.)
Our GM was perfect! I didn’t catch his name, but he gave us the perfect amount of nudging to ensure that we got through the room, but did not help us when we didn’t want/need it. He also did a great job putting us into the theme of the room when he gave us the intro. He really did a wonderful job.

Different just for the amount of puzzles there were for you to solve.
Hard
Medium difficulty puzzles, but Hard to complete them all in the given amount of time.

For most people probably a group of 4 is good. If you are a real escape room enthusiast who wants to be challenged, though, go with just 2 players! It’s awesome!
Not scary
A couple loud noises that could make someone jump out of surprise, but other than that nothing scary.

I have a real soft spot for this game, and proof that some older lock and key rooms are keepers. Minimal design and just an onslaught of really fun, cleverly designed smaller-scale puzzles, representing a wide range of puzzle types, with a fun overall conceit for establishing the puzzle sequences.

Mad puzzle rush! There's enough time built into this room that you can work with your team on just 2 tracks at a time. We were ambitious and we started 4 at the same time, so we finished much earlier than intended. I would say you can definitely complete this with 4! But open to more as you can split up the puzzles.

This game is really interesting because it is a straight up puzzle fest. There is a board in the game, detailing what puzzles you can work on in each path. The amount of puzzles you get also depends on how well you’re doing. As a group of 3, we were starting off strong and were cocky, so, got all puzzles, and…IT IS A LOT. There a few puzzles I didn’t love, and some I really did, some very unique ones. If you’re here doing Treasure island, and you’re all about puzzles, this is your game to play! If you car about set, and story though, maybe look to ghost stories.

This was such a fun room and the hype lived up to my expectations. We were told that this was a puzzle-centric room and it was! We had a group of seven and we all had something to do the entire time. My highlights for this room were the diversity of puzzles and there was a uniqueness in the execution for select puzzles. I also appreciated the track visual so you could see which puzzles were dependent on each other. I could imagine that without the track visual, folks could split up and get too confused if they are not communicating correctly. Finally, I believe that they adjusted the number of puzzles and that is very much appreciated! Highly recommend this room for puzzle lovers

The Mad Scientist is a delightfully mechanical room, with relatively few high tech effects. Overall the game has multiple parallel linear puzzles tracks, which all must be solved to get to the final puzzles. The number of tracks set up by default depends on the number of players, but since the game doesn’t require a ton of intricate set up, the game master was actually able to provide new tracks for us to do when it was clear we were moving ahead of expected pace. Our game master kept a good eye on things and only stepped in when things went really awry for us.

The room is decently accessible for those with mobility issues, as the room is small and everything is within a pretty compact space. Those with visual disabilities will miss out on some items, but excel at others.
