Escape The Rock

Do NOT go to this fake escape room tourist trap. It is absolute trash. The room itself is bad, with horrible tasks and darkness. It’s a 30-minute room, which should have been a red flag. The GM, if you can even call it that, was unresponsive to our requests for hints, did not pay attention to us so ended up giving bad hints, and also mocked us upon exiting. I nearly walked out. We have done over 500 escape rooms, and this might be the worst of all of them. This place should be closed and that GM should be fired. I feel sorry for anyone who goes here and thinks this is what escape rooms are. This place is a scam for tourists. Might as well go to the actual Alcatraz across the water and escape that instead.

Overall, I can’t really recommend this room to people that have done escape rooms before. In the second room, the game master continuously talked us through the puzzles, even talking over the key clues that were being spoken to us by props in the room. After 2 dozen escape rooms, I don’t need someone telling me, “OK, now take the code that you got from the ____ and put it on the keypad on the wall… okay now you’re looking for a little book in the corner of the room.… yup, that’s it! Now find the code….” Etc. This might be great for a group of young people who have never done a room before. Without clues, I’m sure we could have escaped in the 30 minutes.

Cool room. Game master wasn’t overly helpful and almost distracting. Room fun- loved the adrenaline rush at the end!
