Mystic Cabin by Riddle Escape was our first room of the day, part of a two-room visit at this location, played with a team of 4. The venue has a cozy waiting area at the entrance, and while the host/GM was polite, she didn’t show much enthusiasm during the briefing. Once we entered the room, the game began immediately. The environment was warm, charming, and well themed, with a rustic cabin atmosphere that felt welcoming from the start. The decor and props fit the theme perfectly, and a few of the puzzles tied nicely into the environment. However, most puzzles were traditional padlock-based, which is understandable given the room’s age. One puzzle caused some frustration due to Dutch text being essential to solve it. Fortunately, we had a Dutch speaker on our team; otherwise, this could have been a real blocker. Overall, it’s a pleasant, nicely themed classic escape room that’s enjoyable if you set expectations accordingly. Recommended for all players, but make sure someone in your group understands Dutch to fully enjoy the experience.
