You and your team are on a road trip when a terrible storm hits. You decide to find accommodation for the night, but only one bed and breakfast is available in the area. It is an unusual venue and the host makes it very clear that you're not to go exploring past any red doors. But what do you do... you go exploring... And this bed and breakfast makes it very hard to go back.

Another great room. We really enjoyed the room but we liked the other 2 rooms at this location a little bit better! Heaps of puzzles to solve!

5.5/10 GM - Nick (?) was patient & knowledgeable about the game Non-linear room with a few red herrings. Not very exciting but moderately enjoyable.

After trying Murder in the Mob at the same venue, I went into this room expecting the same. However I think the puzzles in this rooms are genuinely an improvement and some of the puzzles are memorable with the mechanical elements. There was an issue however with the flow of the room, Sometimes you are given objects that are very hard to realise what they are used for. We received one item which was meant to be put in a very hard to see hole. There were also multiple occasions where the game master had to chime in and recommend which puzzles we had to focus on first. This seems very counter-intuitive especially when the room is advertised a multi-linear room. I think this room is better than a lot of Scram's room and probably the only rooms you're going to find within the Macquarie Park area. The puzzles in this room still make it worth playing for it's price point.

I usually like Scram's rooms but this one was different and we felt it lacked the usual logical sequence that Scram's rooms usually have. I didn't really feel like there was much of a story happening, if there was, it wasn't cohesive. The puzzles were good and our game master was fantastic.

Motel of Madness was the second and final room our usual team, minus one member, tackled at the Scram Venue in Macquarie Park. This also marked the team's 29th room and my 33rd overall. As previously mentioned in our review of Murder in the Mob, this room notably deviated from the typical Scram-style rooms that we have grown to appreciate. Throughout our experience in Motel of Madness, we found a noticeable absence of a strong, cohesive story. We were simply advised, "Don't go through the red door," with little consequence attached. The puzzles felt somewhat disjointed, requiring us to backtrack through rooms we had already explored, but they definitely pushed us to think more deeply than usual. While the set design was aesthetically pleasing and captured the desired vibe, the lack of a consistent narrative made it challenging to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Fortunately, we had the same Gamesmaster as earlier in the day, ensuring we were in capable hands. However, we did encounter a slight hiccup towards the end. Despite completing the majority of puzzles, we found ourselves missing one crucial item needed to escape. Our Gamesmaster handled the situation professionally, offering assistance and even providing us with a 10% discount voucher for our next Scram visit. Overall, Motel of Madness ranked as our least favourite of the three rooms at the Macquarie venue. Nevertheless, our group still appreciated the enjoyable time and hospitality provided by Scram.
