18 escape rooms

This room was older and some of the decor was dated and could use a refresh, but we enjoyed doing it. We purposely chose this room since we had a 6 year old with us and didn't want anything scary. She was able to help and had a lot of fun doing it. Non-linear and fairly easy to navigate.

Gameplay

A similar theme to other rooms we've played, but a couple unique puzzles. The flow was rather easy to follow.

Atmosphere

Room was dark even with the flashlights provided, so bring reading glasses if you need them.

Customer service

Game master was fun and set the fun vibe before we went in. Very gracious and friendly.

Particularly interesting or different

No

Room was pretty straight forward but was advertised to be easy to moderate, so we expected it. We wanted to guarantee an "escape" for the 6-year child with us and we were able to. The room is dark, but there isn't anything scary.

Story

Pretty straight forward pirate theme. Nothing new but we had fun.

Difficulty

Easy

Not a lot of props, although what was there was interesting. We've done about 20 rooms and this was the easiest. We escaped in about 30 minutes and didn't need help. This isn't a knock on the room, however. We purposely chose the easier and non-scary room with a child. This would be a great room for anyone new to escape rooms.

Game tech

Mechanical

The puzzles were mostly lock-related although there was a large variety of them.

Ideal number of players

4

3-4 would be a good amount.

Scary

Not scary

Dark, but not scary.

Minimum age

10

Not a room you can do by yourself.

Was anything broken?

No

Everything seemed to work as designed.

Live actors

No

Game master was fun upon check in.

Physically active

Not at all

Some mild squatting to access things on the floor but nothing difficult. Plenty of room to move around.

Accessibility

The room was dark but flashlights were provided. I always bring my own which was brighter and helped. There was plenty of room to move around, although a wheel chair might be limited to part of the space. No stairs, steps, lifting, or excessive squatting was needed.

Easy to find location

Yes

Winchester is a cute town. Park in the parking garage and just walk to the shops where this is located. Cute bookstore next door and some restaurants with outside seating in the same area.

Parking

Medium

Parking garage nearby. It was $4 for a couple hours.
