This is not your traditional escape room game... This hotel-themed escape room will fully immerse you into the world of a serial killer who built his hotel with the specific intent to torture and kill his unsuspecting guests. Secret passages, confusing corridors, and soundproof torture chambers are just the beginning. Do you have the courage to check in to the Homicide Hotel?

This was my first ever escape room and now I fear nothing will live up to this room. The atmosphere and immersion starts in the lobby with perfect decor to set the tone. The "Clerk" was so nice and wanted to make sure we understood the story before we started and built up the excitement. 303 Escape truly cares about being an authentic escape room.
The puzzles were challenging and very fun. One thing lead to another, so we weren't at all stumped on what to do next.
The moment I saw the decor, I was very excited to get started.
Cared about us before entering the room and after we got out they were sure to talk to us about our experience.

This was my first escape room and I was blown away. Would definitely recommend for a group of 2-4.
Phenomenal atmosphere. Felt like I was in a horror movie
Very warm and welcoming

Overall this was a great room. The atmosphere was wonderful, the puzzles were fun, and our GM was nice. The only thing that put a damper on the experience was that there was a broken tech element towards the end which was essential to the game. We spent so much time trying to get it to work, and it wouldn’t even with our GM asking if we had done everything. It should have been manually triggered long before it was because it obviously wasn’t working. It was a disappointing end in an otherwise fantastic room.

Rating: 4/5 - Fully thematic, appropriately creepy set with a detailed storyline Pros: ➕The set looked great and was immersive with the theming starting in the lobby. ➕It looked like it could be an actual hotel room, puzzles were completely hidden until you needed them. ➕Real hotel items were used in puzzles, no object in the room felt out of place in the setting. ➕Great use of lighting, you can also turn on the house lights if it is too creepy or you need to see better ➕Very tech heavy, no padlocks, only 1 key but it fit the theme ➕A couple interesting tech interactions I've yet to see before ➕Stronger narrative than most generic serial killer rooms ➕Integrated hint system ➕More than one room to discover ➕GM was friendly and helpful when needed Room for improvement: ➖Missed opportunity for the GM to be in character at the intro and for hints (Starlight Motel at Escape Artist Greenville is amazing example of this) ➖Too many number and letter puzzles for my tastes, I'd like more variety and tactile/physical interactions ➖Too many paper notes that are used for directions/clueing. If the puzzles were a bit more intuitive then directions wouldn't be needed. ➖Would like a stronger ending, but it leads into Chapter 2 which I didn't have time to play. Room is creepy, but there are no intentional jump scares. You may get startled by a panel opening loudly. I recommend 2-3 enthusiasts, though I played this solo (paid for 2 tickets) and completed it with 8 min left with 3 hints. I wouldn't say it's an easy room, there are some tricky puzzles. Some spaces are smaller, so I would not want more than 4 players.

I liked this locked room mystery. It reminded me of the Overlook Hotel meets the Devil in the White City. Nate said it reminded him of room 1408…look for the Easter Egg, folks! Absolutely, splendid. I haven’t been this immersed since touring the Bate’s Motel at Universal Studios in the 80’s!
The Game Play was fun. We needed some “nudges” to get is through the night (nudges are optional). Definitely brainy and interactive drawing from some favorite cult classics! We came back for Part 2 before we left town.
As a horror writer, I could live in Hotel 303, forever. Room 303 is creepy. There were times I felt I was in true danger. The atmosphere is the right mix of campy and spooky! - Kate
The staff is welcoming. We absolutely love the GM. The staff really made the experience worth repeating! We came back three nights in a row.
Yes
Perfect blend of murder mystery and suspense. It really made me think, “What if this is real? What if I don’t escape and this is all a rouse to get unsuspecting guests to sign up and consent to their own homicide?”
I loved the flow from Part 1 to Part 2.
Medium
The interactive puzzles and cryptography were a mix of easy and hard. We were able to puzzle them out together and were offered “nudges” on the more puzzling puzzles haha! Nate says, without the nudges he would rate this as hard.

We had 2. Nate says this was “solid.” I’d say 3. Six eyes are better than two, especially for Part 2. Wink wink nudge nudge Two are required to activate the puzzles in Part 2. As we were entering, we saw and spoke to a party of 6 exiting. Six would be fun in Part 1, but quite possibly claustrophobic in Part 2.
Spooky
Definitely spooky although there were a few 💩 👖moments for Kate in Part 2. Part 1 was more eerie. Part 2 definitely had me jump scared a few times, and the escalating music added to the urgency.

I am sure there are more gruesome Escape Rooms, but the recommended age from the operator is 16. My son is into forensic science (they are 14), and I think they can handle it. Part I’m 1 was bathroom bloody. Part 2 had true crime pictures not meant for younger viewers.

Aside from the voice in the vent or on the phone, actors were only used to guide you to your room (or back to your room- as was the case for us, we accidentally escaped into the hallway) and to run the front desk.
Somewhat
Let’s just say, before hip surgery, I would have gotten stuck in the closet, but I am certain the staff would have let me in the second room in Part 1 from the mystery door in the hallway. They were very helpful and accommodating. There is a lot of bending and stooping, but it is not excessive or aerobic. This is more of a small, locked room mystery.
If you have a mobility issue or are hearing or vision impaired, I would recommend entering the escape room with a staff member who can assist you, or joining with a companion to assist. There are many visual and audio clues and a mild amount of clues that require stooping and hand grip capabilities when solving certain puzzles. I am a Special Needs Instructor, and I think this would be a fun experience for my adult students who enjoy mysteries and/or escape rooms. Please, use your discernment and communicate with the staff prior to booking. -Kate

The Uber driver dropped us off at the back of the building all three times we visited. It was sooo very creepy! At the end of the first night, we accidentally got into the vehicle of the spouse of one of the “Bell Hops” on staff! Scared the crap out of all of us!

Lots of parking! Especially, for Uber drivers and the unsuspecting spouses of staff members, you know who you are!

That might have been one of the worst rooms I’ve done. The rooms props were amazing, and the lighting, and ambiance looked amazing. But the puzzles and staff were pretty bad. The guy that let us in had a lot of attitude, and he kept micro managing how we were supposed to interact with stuff. The puzzles made no sense, and a lot of them felt out of place. We required 6 hints and didn’t even make it half way. The phone/hint button was part of the puzzles which made no sense, and the guy kept calling saying not to do certain stuff. 2/10

I ended up liking the room, but I found myself quite frustrated by a couple of puzzles during the experience. I thought they were unnecessarily confusing. There were other props/puzzles in the room that were thematic and pretty cool. Overall, I didn't love it, but it was enjoyable.

We survived room 303! The set really shines here, and one theme uniting both rooms makes for a continuous experience. The lobby was well themed and our hosts were in character. Not too scary, but a good spooky time!

Solid gameplay, good puzzles. Our search fail lol
