Full Experience: The Magician of Paris & The Funhouse

We loved the Magician side of the experience but were more meh on the Funhouse. The Magician has fun actor interactions, a chance to put on costumes, interesting puzzles, and a cohesive storyline. The Funhouse has a hall of mirrors and a "chased by a killer" element. There were many opportunities for the Funhouse to explore interesting avenues. That being said, they both manage to build a world in the undergrounds that is detailed and believable. One character was shouting Hamlet lines outside our room (mainly from the soliloquies), and since I teach Hamlet, I shouted them back.

Had the most amazing experience. Definitely ranks top 10 if not top 5 of my list. I was scared but I survived 😅

We loved this room. Definitely in our top 10. Possibly top 6. Such a different room. Loved the spookiness and scariness. The immersive set was amazing.

Super cool set. The circus set was scarier than expected, but fit with the theme. The puzzles in the magician half were more puzzle-like, and the second half were more on "stop the horror" Actors did a great job.

I thought the room was very well done. The sets were very immersive. The actors were also very good, but I was paralyzed with fear and not very useful. I would say it’s great for horror fans but not for those who lack bravery.

Excellent atmosphere, live acting with great performances. Puzzles took a back seat to the theatrics but that worked. Lots of cool set piece moments that we will remember.

Just realized this was my 90th escape room and this has got to be my favorite room so far. This is going to be a tough one to top. If you are an escape room enthusiast and are planning a trip to Paris, then this is A MUST DO!! Set aside some money and some time to book this 2 part room. Has everything from magic, mystery, thrills and chills! Special effects and sounds bring everything to life. There’s a reason they’ve been on the top tier of the TERPECA list and it’s because of how immersed you get in this world they’ve created. I’m just saying that if I were to make my own escape room, it would have to be of the caliber like this! Our GMs Pablo and Hugo did an amazing job setting us up and they speak good English too if you’re visitors like us. My wife and I did this just the two of us and our story began with the email we received when booking. So read the instructions carefully and be prepared to enter something amazing. Also know that this isn’t for the faint of heart but if you can face your fears with friends and loved ones, I’m sure you will escape like we did. They do a great job of having you experience the room in its entirety. Damn, this was such a good time, I’ll be talking about it for months.

The sets, the sound effects and the acting are absolutely top notch. I can't say that the two rooms really integrate all that well as a story - I mean, they connect them, but it still kind of feels like "oh, look, two places we found in the Cité des Martyrs, go explore them". Le palais de l'horreur was my first legitimately scary escape room, one with a live actor. I absolutely loved the first part of le palais de l'horreur, such a creepy setting used to such great effect. The room overall had so many clever details that add to the effect throughout. I would say the puzzles are less of the main draw for either room (understandably so in le palais de l'horreur), but I really enjoyed my experience. I did this as a team of two, which I cannot say I recommend for your first horror room, but fortunately my cousin is far braver than I am. Also learned that "scaredy cat" does not translate into to french and instead you need to tell them that you are a "poule mouillée" to convey the same concept.

We loved magician part more but full experience was amazing, it was our first experience with live actors ever, we enjoyed it a lot! Impressive set and high tech puzzles!

Amazing experience! The Magician half was excellently themed with puzzles similar to ones we’ve experienced in America. Funhouse was super scary and unlike anything else I’ve done—not for the faint of heart! Our game masters Enzo and Hugo were also amazing :)
