In the heart of Escaparium Laval's massive complex nestles a mysterious monument classified as a World Heritage Site, forgotten for several centuries: an ancient cathedral. Escaparium was built around this characterful building that once served as a sanctuary for a now extinct cult. Archaeological excavations and restoration of the monument have been underway for several years now. This allowed us to make major discoveries on the history of the cathedral and on a certain cult that we name, "The Order". Artifacts of rituals dating back centuries have been found and are currently being investigated. Come take the guided tour through the myths and legends of a forgotten past. A trip which you will never forget. (this is an escape game)!

In terms of sheer spectacle, cinematic immersion, and intensity, this room is out of this world (I actually think it has a slight edge on Magnifico, which is also wonderful, but somewhat weaker on the puzzle side). My sense of Escaparium, having done several rooms, is that puzzles take a bit of a back seat to production, but when the production is this amazing, who’s really complaining?

Simply excellent. GREAT story - I was immmersed the whole time. Great use of space. Loved the 4th wall break to view the workshop. All details were thought of (though some objects you need to see from a distance could be gently backlit to help us older players with weaker eyesight out?)

The set is obviously the star of the show, and it's quite impressive. Puzzles fit into the world pretty well, and the opening sequence quickly draws players into the story in a memorable fashion while establishing the stakes. Having said that, I had a big problem with the game's audio. Like in Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen, I frequently had a hard time clearly making out what the off-set characters were saying, which made it harder to follow the plot and broke me out of immersion. Also, the set, while astonishing, didn't quite click in a way I can't put my finger on. Maybe it was in a weird space between being a very good imitation of a cathedral while still clearly being an imitation of a cathedral - it was good enough to mostly make me suspend disbelief, but not quite good enough to finish the job.

Immersive experience where you follow a "guide". Spooky ambience but very fun. We were 8 people (max allowed in the room) and I still enjoyed it.

"Sorry, does this game have subtitles?" Technical masterpiece with immersion-breaking audio flaws... Undoubtedly, a technical masterpiece filled with "wow" moments and unique puzzles, this game's convoluted plot coupled with garbled audio left me questioning at several points why we were doing the things we were doing (...and otherwise shouting to others "what did he just say?!") It is nevertheless an unforgettable experience and is probably one of the reasons you're in Montreal (...right?). So, I don't need to convince you to play this. :) Sadly, the audio was a real immersion breaker for me and really should be fixed (other reviews on here mentioned similar issues, so it's a known issue). It left me feeling unimmersed at a number of key moments and left the puzzles feeling disconnected from the story (our GM's voice was not only garbled, the music often drowned out the voice). The actor is also playing a character with an accent making it even further difficult to make out the words. A bummer because most everything else was firing on all cylinders.
The story is good, but it's quite convoluted, making me second guess why we're doing certain things at certain times.

An absolute masterpiece—a must-play! The set design and scenic immersion are among the best I’ve seen in any escape room. It genuinely felt like stepping into a Disney attraction—every detail was so polished, immersive, and cinematic. An unforgettable experience.

As with other Escaparium rooms, there is a lot of love and care put into this room and more than one "wow" moment. The sets are gorgeous. The acting and plot is fun. That said, we had a ton of issues with this room, from certain props / tools not working correctly, to puzzles being confusing, to major audio issues in the last room with hearing the game master. After experiencing their other incredible rooms, it was a bit of a disappointment. Still absolutely worth it to play, but my least favorite of their "big four" TERPECA rooms.

You need to crawl, and ascend/descend steep stairs.
LOTS of problems with hearing the Game Master in the last room.
