Really good experience, not a standard escape room with puzzles but so much fun, like a real life RPG

A hospital outside a town was mysteriously abandoned a few years ago and the local council has ordered the hospital to be demolished in the early hours of this morning. There have been reports of alarms sounding at night from inside the hospital and the initial investigation team disappeared for an unknown reason. You have heard that a YouTube director who investigates paranormal activities has organised an urban exploration before the hospital is demolished. For your own personal reasons, you asked if you could join as part of his film crew. You only have 90 minutes to sneak into the hospital to discover why the hospital was abandoned before the demolition crew arrives.

This game was insane. I mean from start to finish the entire thing was so fast paced and cinematic, I'd never really experienced anything like it within the escape room realm. Having been recommended Intruders by a number of casual players and enthusiasts, I knew I was in for something pretty unique and it thrills me to say that Mission really delivered on this one. Let's start with the set, holy shit THE SET. High budget, expansive, immersive, detailed, intricate. I genuinely had a hard time mapping out its layout in my head due to the sheer amount of twists, turns and exploration we were allowed to experience. The creepy hospital setting is a perfect environment for a few amatuer paranormal investigators to get mixed up in, each of us with a unique role in the film crew, singled out and utilised wonderfully by our live actor and fearless director, Mario. It's pretty hard to put into words the fear and excitement my friends and I all felt fumbling through this medical hellscape. It was outstanding design. Puzzles here are pretty few and far between and while I'm usually pretty firm on this kinda thing, it ended up being easily forgivable given everything else that is thrown at you in the space of 60-90 minutes. I guarantee you'll have an infinitely better time in this one if you forget about the "solve" and just allow yourself to enjoy ride. Actors here were excellent, giving convincing performances while also adapting to jokes, outbursts and harsh "director-related" criticism throughout, my only feedback would be to allow players to meet these guys post-game. I understand immersion and the fourth wall but being able to have a conversation and pass on my compliments would've made this superb experience even better. Lastly I have to talk about the lighting and story, so well executed and seamless from the get-go. The narrative is the only thing you have to go on and these guys make a point of letting players grasp exactly what's happening around them all while playing fast and loose with so many clever variations of lighting, it added so much to the horror of it all. How. Good. Simply put, Intruders is a must-play for the escape room enthusiast, the role player, the horror buff, the psychopath. It's one of a kind in its entirety and deserves every bit of praise that comes its way. Bravo Mission.

This is one of the most amazing in person experiences I have played. The tech absolutely blew my mind, and so did the cinematic live actor moments. Of course, the jump scares also greatly enhanced my experience, although I didn’t find it particularly scary. If you aren’t too scared of horror escape rooms, this is definitely one of the escape rooms that you can’t miss.
Although we were treated well, the GM we had with us that day was not as immersive and focused on the escape room, making it feel more unrealistic.

After playing sacrifice and not loving it I’ll admit I came into this game a wee bit apprehensive. Thankfully I was absolutely blown away by this game. The set design is obviously the biggest selling point. It’s massive, immersive, creepy, everything you want in an experience like this. The live actors were actually sick, our guide Mario was a legend and the gentleman in the striped pyjamas a Boone-esque superstar. Generally I’ve founded a dislike for the live actor experience as they can be under-utilised or over relied on. Intruders struck a very sweet middle ground that was akin to playing a video game with NPCs but in a really good way. Probably not ideal for the more puzzle-loving members of the community. We knew going in however, that there were limited puzzles meaning it’s far more of an “experience” than an escape room and we didn’t mind. A saga of epic scale and enjoyment that is one of the best in Sydney; *probably* not an “escape room”, but still amazing.

This room was intense! My favourite room so far. Not particularly difficult. Very immersive and the most I've ever felt like I'm part of the story. The story is very well put together. Not for the feint hearted! Plenty of scares and thrilling themes. Live actors were on point. Highly recommended!

‘Intruders’ is an experience that stayed with me long after leaving the venue. Mission Room Escape’s acting, sets, and manipulation of the environment in ‘Intruders’ absolutely blew my mind. As an immersive, theatrical escape room, ‘Intruders’ is lighter on puzzles than Mission’s other experiences — and the game is all the better for it. The smaller collection of puzzles within this immersive experience felt closer to mimesis than those in most escape rooms in Sydney. As a team of two, moving between the sparse areas of light felt tense and frightening. Each door was opened cautiously, and every second spent isolated was truly felt. The use of multiple live actors ensures players watch the cinematic scenes from perfect vantage points. If you can stomach horror, run to play ‘Intruders’. It’s a truly stellar immersive experience and an outstanding example of how theatre and escape room puzzles can be combined to create something genuinely transcendent.

Standout set design.

Most favourite horror experience out there. We were petrified from start to the end and it was so immersive you really felt trapped (in an escape room kind of way). One of the only escape experiences I would revisit again and again.

Hands down one of the most incredible in-person experiences I've ever had in any format or medium! Amazing special effects plus ingenious lighting and sound design combine to deliver an immersive masterpiece that truly makes you feel like you are in a real-life horror movie. More of an experience than a traditional escape room, though there were still good puzzles to solve. Yes, it is indeed super scary, but in a really safe and fun way. Can't recommend it highly enough.

This was a fantastic experience. It is not a classic escape room, although you’ll still need to escape. It has simple and very few puzzles, but this is made up with a brilliant live actor experience. The atmosphere, visual and audio is exceptional. Be prepared for thrills and screams.
