50 escape rooms
I really wanted to love this room — the 90s video store theme had so much promise and felt like a perfect setup for a fun, nostalgic experience. Unfortunately, the execution just wasn’t there. The puzzles didn’t flow well, and there was little to no direction on what to do next, making the puzzles not as fun to complete. As experienced escape room players, we were disappointed by the lack of cohesion in the story and puzzle design. Though the room felt like a video store, the space itself felt cramped, especially in the first part of the game. I wouldn’t recommend doing this with more than three people, four at most. The one bright spot was the staff — they were friendly and helpful, so no complaints there. This experience just reinforced what I’ve noticed before: chain escape rooms do not compare to locally owned ones. They often feel uninspired and lack the creativity and attention to detail that make escape rooms memorable. That is the case with this one.
