256 escape rooms
The best part of the room was the friendly staff and the in-character GM, who explains why players are there and can banter a little. This is a gen 1 room (i.e. lots of combination or key locks) and feels like a room from the early days. The set is minimal - enough to give a sense of what the designer was going for, but not nearly immersive. One unusual thing about the room that I've never seen before (I don't know if this was common during early escape rooms) was there was a subtle storyline implied by the props and notes - it wasn't something we were told to look for beforehand, but at the end the GM asked if we had figured out the answer to a few questions, which we had.
