Pixel Planet was once a vibrant and creative world, where the main character, Jabob, explored and created amazing things using his imagination. However, the peace of Pixel Planet was shattered when the Ender Dragon arrived and began to wreak havoc. Qbee's mother and Jabob were among those who went missing, and many of the beautiful pixel landscapes were destroyed. In a desperate attempt to save Pixel Planet, its inhabitants were forced to enter a deep sleep and wait for heroes to arrive. They believed that only a brave warrior who could defeat the Ender Dragon would be able to save their world. While they slept, they called out to the Guardians of the Galaxy to find the heroes and rescue Pixel Planet, restoring peace and prosperity to their beloved home.

25 escape rooms

Pixel Planet is a low budget, second generation escape room. It had some cool set pieces, but the puzzle flow was very linear. It was set up to appear non-linear but we were nudged back onto the path if we tried to deviate from it. The GM/actor really heightened the game experience and it was a good thing they were included. The props and setting are all cheaply done, with little sense of wonder when exploring. The puzzles were not too difficult though there were a few times we needed some help. The theme was definitely Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft and the final boss was very challenging until we figured out a cheat. If they upgrade some of the puzzles, like the cheaply done farm animals, and the magic tree this could be an even better experience. The crafting table was awesome, best part of the experience. Would have been nice to make the room even more blocky, as many of the decorations and set pieces didn't feel pixel or blocky enough. Overall, we had a decent experience as overall it was fun. I brought my kids and we had a fun time together. Not in the top escape rooms I've done, but not in the bottom either.

Not scary

actor provided a bit of suspense and concern about a jump scare, but managed well and gave an opportunity to overcome fear for one moment but there isn't a jump scare and the rest of the game isn't scary at all.

98 escape rooms

Room felt very underwhelming in immersion like some hobbiest setup their home up for a kids birthday party and not a full production room for an escape business. Very cheap feeling with cheap bare room designs. You will feel unimpressed with the overall design. If you are a minecraft fan you'll get the subtle theming attempts. NPC tried his hardest but fell short when it comes to the feel of the room atmosphere. Many Props were broken. The finally puzzle task was very difficult to operate since it was hard to control and broken. GM had to reset the system at least once to get the proper to turn on. Puzzles were very simple and just remedial tasks to complete. For the high price paid for a 90 minute room, I didn't even bother wanting to ask for a refund since I wouldn't want to go back to that place again any ways.

Gameplay

Very simple and remedial puzzles

Atmosphere

Very cheap. No immersion at all.

Customer service

Seemed like only 1 employee for that day to greet customers, be my NPC for my game while occasionally stepping out to answer the other Escape Rooms questions.

Was anything broken?

Yes

Multiple broken props. Did not do anything to help with final puzzle prop being broken. We just sat their trying to use a Laser to hit certain sensors but ended up just using our phone light to trigger them since we couldn't get it to work properly. Probably say their for like 20 minutes trying to get it to work and only 1 can operate the machine. Our faces all said we were already done with this room and just wanted to go home already.
