74 escape rooms
Mansion Murder was unfortunately one of the weaker rooms I’ve played. While the set looked polished on the surface, it lacked the immersive details that make you feel part of the story. It felt more like a generic decorated room than an actual old mansion, and there was very little atmosphere or tension to pull us in. The puzzles were the biggest issue. They were harder than expected — but not in a clever or satisfying way. Even when we knew the answer, the solutions were sometimes so awkwardly designed that it felt easier to brute force the input than figure it out the intended way. The room didn’t have good puzzle flow, and several moments left us confused or frustrated rather than engaged. Our GM was great and gave us help when we needed it, but overall, the game just lacked energy. The ending was abrupt and had no real payoff, which made the whole experience feel kind of flat. We played with two people and managed to finish, but we walked out feeling more annoyed than accomplished. If you're brand new to escape rooms, it might be fine. But for anyone with experience, this one just doesn’t hold up — there are better-designed and more immersive rooms nearby that are way more worth your time.
Gameplay
Surprisingly difficult for the wrong reasons. Poor puzzle flow and clunky mechanics made many of the solutions frustrating — it was easier to brute force than solve some of them properly.
Atmosphere
Clean but bland. Theming was minimal and didn’t sell the “mansion” vibe at all. No sense of mystery or tension.
Customer service
Awesome GM!
Particularly interesting or different
No
Not really. It followed a very standard formula and didn’t introduce anything new or exciting. Nothing stood out.
Story
Weak. The plot was there, but it wasn’t memorable and didn't really help to elevate the game in any way. It was just there to vaguely theme the room.
Difficulty
Medium
Higher difficulty, but not in a clever way. More confusing and frustrating than challenging.
Game tech
High tech
More technology but nothing innovative.
Ideal number of players
3
2–3. We played with 2 and it was doable. Any more might have helped the experience but it also could take away as we almost had too many people working on one thing at once with just the two of us.
Scary
Not scary
Not scary at all. No tension, no buildup, just a murder mystery theme with no atmosphere to support it.
Minimum age
10
Probably 10+. There’s nothing scary or inappropriate, but the puzzle logic might frustrate younger players.

Not at all. Entirely stationary. No crawling, climbing, or movement-based tasks.

Yes
Yes — it’s inside a shopping complex. Clear signage.

Free and easy, plenty of spots nearby.
