The best thing about this place was the atmosphere as soon as you walk in. You immediately jump into the game! The room itself was cool and we almost made it with just two people. The puzzles made sense and all connected well. My only issue was the "answer" at the end just not connecting to anything. Otherwise, I'd give this room a 7.5/10

Very nicely thematic. A little distance from main area of town, but worth the extra walk over. Brewery next door was great for after. Host fun. Clues offered up too quickly without asking which wasnβt our preference personally. Very thematic.

Hosts and theming help make this room a standout. Room is well decorated and the puzzles fit the murder/music vibe well. Great company!

This was a funny experience. We thought the game master was playing a character, but it turns out that was just his character. The room was tight for 5 adults, but the puzzles were cute. We got through the room pretty quickly with no hints.

This game is 3 parts - with part 1 being the main objective with 2&3 as add ons, as time permits. With a team of 2, we escaped part 1 (the murderer) in 32:11. We were able to do parts 2&3 (the why & the how) in another 10 minutes and 17.5 minutes, respectively. It was SO much fun! Great theme, great puzzles, lots of fun surprises, and adds to the overall theme of the mansion. The best room in New Orleans!

So I first played this game in April 2018 and that time, did not get very far. Played with a random person who did not really seem to have that much interest. I always hoped for another crack at this game. Nice that my trip to New Orleans allowed me to get some closure on two different games. (See Spellbound) Anyway, in the last 7 years, the company has moved locations. From what I remember, the game pretty much felt exactly the same, which is saying something, considering it takes place in an eclectic mansion. The plot is a whodunit murder mystery, taking place in the 1950s and thereβs a nice sense of New Orleans and jazz music baked into the game. The puzzles were on the harder side, but overall it was a good experience. This game along with their Mardi Gras game are part of an over arching storyline. If I had one critique, there are some extra puzzles that are thrown in after the game ends if you get through with lots of time to spare, specifically ones that let you find the killers motive and murder weapon. We only had 6 minutes left on the first game, but we breezed through the Mardi Gras game, so they let us come back to the first one to do those puzzles. That felt a little disjointed. There were also some references to another storyline, which I did not understand, but when I asked about it, was happy to find out that one of their other games from their original location, Inventor's Attic, will be making its way to the new location sometime in 2025 which will pick up on those storyline pieces. This is a fun place and I recommend doing this game and Mardi Gras. We did avoid the Smugglers den, which is their most highly rated game, but it seems the ratings are based off of the novelty of doing a game mostly in the dark.

We accidentally skipped several steps of the puzzle by fiddling with somethings, so that was a little disappointing. But overall the puzzles were engaging, immersive, and not too contrived.

This game was full of twists and turns that made my party of 3 busy from the moment we got started to the end! Crookshanks the gm was phenomenal and the theatrics/immersion was fantastic. Iβm a super big fan of escape rooms that donβt require a lot of locks. If youβre in New Orleans and you want something to remember, this is the place you got to go!
Story was very important to the room, and flowed very well. Not your average murder mystery!
Even though there was a puzzle broken, they seem to have prepared things. The set was really well done.
Absolutely made this room much more entertaining than it already was. Shout out to Crookshank and their meatloaf

This game is not closed! Not sure why it is listed as such here. We had a great time! GM was very accommodating, both in hinting when needed, and as a generous host.

βNewer players will likely find Jazz Parlor challenging, but not impenetrable. Be patient. β
