Fishing and camping gear in tow you set off for a relaxing weekend away. With little daylight left you veer off the beaten track to find a spot to set up camp. A quick check of the map shows you have found yourselves in the heart of the infamous Blackwoods Forest. You’ve heard the stories… a deranged figure lurking among the trees at night… missing campers… wasn't it around here a human skull was found? You chuckle nervously to yourselves… Just a silly urban legend… Right? Your team will have 60 minutes to escape before the butcher returns. Will you outsmart him?

Gah! The Blackwoods Butcher! Can honestly say that I was not expecting to enjoy this room as much as I did! High immersion from the get go, I’m normally not huge on the handcuffs and blindfolds entrance but it works really well for this experience. Absolutely brimming with puzzles and solves there was never a time that I felt we couldn’t find something to work on. Also a lot bigger than I was expecting, it felt like every time I thought we were done it just kept going. It was nice to meet the Butcher afterwards, turns out he’s not half bad. A great experience and certainly more challenging than the vanishing act room, one for those looking for something tougher.

Serial killers and escape rooms seem to go together like glue and more glue. The Blackwoods Butcher was a genuinely well put together room with a layout that I found to be quite surprising and intricate. While the puzzles themselves weren’t anything outrageous, the overall variety and sense of exploration they encouraged is what really helped make it a fun experience, while not technically just relying on hide and seek, the flow of the room is really cool. Shoutout to anyone who finds a fun little trinket inside the room (optional), as there is a cool $5 prize waiting for you at the end :-) Overall I found LOKT to have some really charming rooms, definitely worth checking out if you’re in the sticks!

Excellent room with lots of puzzles to get your brain ticking. Phones and watches are handed over before you start, and no timer on walls - adding to the suspense and thrill. Fun, creepy room!

Fantastic room with fun and engaging puzzles. The atmosphere was thrilling and kept us on edge. The design is intricate and clearly the owners have put in a lot of creative investment. This room is unique in that any device (including phones and watches) are not permitted - there is no way of keeping track of time. This added an extra and fun layer of suspense.
