201 escape rooms
Halloween City from Carthago Escape Room was a fantastic surprise during our holiday trip to Spain with friends and their 10-year-old daughter. The environment is full of charm and beautifully crafted, instantly pulling you into the Nightmare Before Christmas universe. From the moment the game starts, immersion is key—there’s no human interaction, just you and the world they’ve built (just one tiny moment of interaction). This is a puzzle-heavy room, with a wide variety of challenges that are all cleverly tied to the theme. While there is a storyline, it’s easy to lose track of it due to the sheer volume of puzzles. That said, fans of the movie will love the references and details throughout. We played in English and it worked well—only one puzzle needed adapting. If you have a Spanish speaker in your group, it’s worth mentioning to the host so you can enjoy the original version of that puzzle. We finished with just a minute to spare (75-minute room), and it was intense but fun. Recommended for experienced players—newbies might find it overwhelming, but it’s definitely a rewarding challenge.
