Dragonborne

This is a solid room in terms of design and technology however my biggest gripe is the staff here. They interrupted game play to this room to give an unsolicited hint when they thought we needed it even though I explicitly told the staff that we were seasoned escape room goers and did not want any hints. Despite this, they literally came into the room (not even spoke through the speakers) to help with something that we had not even struggled with for 15 minutes. Though the room was fantastic this experience really soured the gameplay for me and made us escaping less satisfying than it could have been.

The room is cool, but it has its flaws. The atmosphere and set design felt polished and immersive, but the puzzles did not flow as well as we would have wished. Some puzzles were also sensitive, making them a bit tedious to complete. Repetitive noises also became annoying at times because of how easily they were triggered.

If you’re a fan of medieval fantasy this room looks really cool! Unfortunately much of the game play is dominated by one, multipart puzzle. We were warned at the beginning of the game to concentrate on this one puzzle before we do anything else, and that it usually takes a while. Our small group of 2 followed that advice and hunkered down for the one puzzle, and to be honest it felt as tho we were doing homework for 20 minutes. After that, the rest of the room was ok. Some fun puzzles in a neat room, but the first half of the room just felt like a chore. I think they should redesign this room, especially since they need to tell people ahead of time what they’re getting themselves into, it’s clearly frustrated players in the past. I would recommend the other rooms at this location over this one. The Inquisition, for example, was a good time.

A very cool set design and props makes this a cool experience. Puzzles designed more for logic and to spend most of your game play on the first puzzle before being able to finish the room. The staff let’s you know this ahead of time to help with the experience.

A decent room overall that has not been maintained well. The room had a cool design but many of the sensors were hard to trip or overly sensitive requiring multiple tries. We actually tried one puzzle 10 times before staff was able to help us. The staff was also quite inattentive and left us with a trainee that, while super sweet, should not have been left on her own yet especially considering how much time we had spent on broken puzzles.
