a game that kept us smiling even when the lights went out, literally (we had a full power outage mid game). Imaginative puzzles, kinetic reveals, and a game that has a sense of adventure, tension, and joy.

Really impressive set design and story telling. A room focused on immersive and high adrenaline with a good focus on team puzzles. Game comes with 16 possible endings!

A really fun room with some top decor (the first area is incredible!). The puzzles started off a bit strong but then got so so, still, this didn't really take from the experience since they made sense to the storyline. There were a few things that I feel didn't go with the great set (like the plastic gallon jugs or the crappy animated videos) but they didn't really affect the gameplay. The mix with live actors and how you interact with them is unique and fun π you'll see. There are a couple things I haven't seen in another ER so there's that as well. Definitely a must do in Barcelona.

A fantastic new addition to Escape Barcelona repertoire. I feel they have maintained their strong mix of advanced technology and innovative design with extraordinary storytelling to bring you a 2+ hour adventure in which you are the main characters. Total immersion, minimalist influence from the GM in the form of hint system and the combination of physical challenges with puzzle solving and action sequences is just perfect. Fun puzzles for the puzzle lovers, action sequences that will keep the story lovers happy. Just terrific balance that will leave everyone happy.

Very novel storyline. In true Escape Barcelona style the story starts outside on the street. No front desk, no employee interface. Immersion is immediate. Flow was very good the GM can gently nudge you along without a strong presence so you keep on track.
Set design is fantastic. Immersion is total and details are stunning. Fantastic special effects. Amazing effects !!!!
No GM interaction at all until after the game but we had a very nice interview from him post game to analyze our game play. He was very good. Good acting as well

For many reasons. Great interaction with characters for sure. Multiple scenarios and setting in the game just made each new scene even more impressive.
The story was exciting and the game play felt 100% in line with the story plot. Pay attention to the story from the beginning and it will come to light exactly how it is narrated. The game play never drifts from the story for the sake of the puzzles. Alsoβ¦. Multiple ending possibilities π₯³
Hard
I would say definitely hard but not expert because the hint system is so well integrated they never let you struggle for too long.

There is stuff here I havenβt done before. Iβm still catching up on my Morty reviews but trust me that says a lot. And really novel ways to interact with the tech too

We played 2 people and loved it. It is quite a physical game though so 3 people would make it less strenuous. There is a certain degree of linearity to the puzzles and experience so too many people could feel congested if more than 4 personally.
Scary
I have played games that were traumatizing I would go that far but it has some scary moments for sure. Especially if you are new to the actor integrated games

I donβt know how kids would react to the actor elements and the darkness but I can see how kids would be very scared in some scenes

Amazing actor and the actors role is so much fun! Wonβt say more. Tell them you want a full on experience and have fun π±

One of the most physically active games Iβve played. I donβt want to spoil game elements but you will use your upper and lower body and will need clothes and shoes youβre not worried about getting dirty.
It is a very active game with tight enclosed spaces and dark to pitch black with low to very low visibility.

I'm often critical of games which have "nonimmersive" (i.e., non-diegetic) puzzles because immersion is what I'm paying for. I had low expectations based on others' warnings over KONG's puzzle randomness... but I completely disagree: this game rocks! Contrary to Cybercity at the same location (see my separate review, ugh...), nothing here was broken, the GMs were awesome, the puzzles made sense, and we always had a clear goal in mind. In a twist that was rare in its being fully earned by designers and the plot points leading up to it, every instance of "what is happening?" was actually a design feature, not a flaw - every "wait what was that for" was explained, or justified, later. The ending was epic for several different reasons. I wish I could discuss it without spoiling it. KONG has one of the best plotlines in Barcelona with several high octane moments throughout, just a touch of scary and mysterious vibes, some creepy sci-fi goodness, and unique puzzles which make sense in the world and push the story forward. My only critique: AI-generated videos feature in two or three spaces, and the end product comes off as unpolished and doesn't meet the high bar set by the rest of the room. I'd rather have no graphics at all than AI sequences of random "animals" which only serve to break immersion (though, gratefully, only briefly). There's one sequence where the AI is understandable (budget reasons, for sure), but it could use a rework to look more professional.

We loved that room. Game started straight away no introduction and already got us in to the spooky atmosphere. It was impressive set. First 1 h we were a little bit overwhelmed and not sure where should we focus our attention but then got better and better! There were wow moments and things we never experienced in the escape room before! We recommend it while visiting Barcelona but be prepared to be spooked and tired! π¦π«£

One of the best escape rooms we have done. It has plenty of fun puzzles, it has nice atmosphere, it has suspense, it has excitement and action. The game starts right away which I like (no boring introduction, but make sure to go to the restroom before). We also enjoyed that they customized the game for 2 players. Afterwards nice chat with the gamemaster that seemed passionate about the game and escaperooms. Highly recommended!
