Exeter has a long Magical history that traces back to the Great Dragon Dumnonia. This Dragon bestowed an Egg which in turn radiated magic to a select few who became blessed with powers of witchcraft and wizardry. The Isca Magica Concilium have overseen the Magical community of Exeter for centuries although persecution has seen them in hiding for fear of their safety. The magical egg, source of all of the magical power has now been stolen from the Sidwell Sanctum based in the corner of the Wyvern Wizarding Quarter and the power is slowly draining from all those who were gifted. The council has asked that your team attempt to recover the stolen egg to ensure that the magical energy is not lost from the city forever. Do you and your team have the skills and power to save the magic? This attraction won the Gold in the 2025 Devon Tourism Awards' Experience of the Year category.

A wonderfully quirky room that flowed beautifully, with a variety of puzzles including a couple that we hadn’t seen before. Great fun and amazing hosting from Dan, he and Lisa are so passionate about what they do and do it brilliantly. Suitable for all ages, groups and levels of experience - highly recommend a visit when you are anywhere in the vicinity of Exeter.

Really solid and fun escape room!
Gameplay
A fairly linear escape room, but aside from one "action" segment which wasn't amazingly implemented, the puzzles were good, creative and magical!
Atmosphere
The effects were really good. The host and the room didn't take themselves too seriously, which I think was a good approach too.

Our host Isaac was welcoming, chatty and helpful.

Dan was such a welcoming, informative and funny game master from the minute we walked in. We were incredibly grateful that The Prodigy was able to fit us in for a spontaneous game in the evening which most other escape rooms can't provide. We played The Wizards of Wyvern game and it is safe to say this has been our all time favourite! The game, story and props were all incredibly well thought out and the theme was incredibly fun. We are keen escape room enthusiasts so Dan was kind enough to share the behind the scenes of the escape room and its mechanics as many of the puzzles were unique to this game and we haven't come across such innovative game play before even showing us his custom soundboard which was hilarious and made the game even more personalised. We look forward to coming and playing again soon! Thank you Dan and The Prodigy Team! :)

Three of our group had this room as their favourite of the three, one had The Lost Idol. A really good mixture of different types of puzzles and tasks with enough to keep us busy on hard mode with no clues. Excellent GM hosting and would definitely recommend playing all three rooms at Prodigy.

We loved this game- we played as a three for my daughter’s 21st. The host was so friendly and really went the extra mile to make it a great experience! The puzzles were really inventive and a brilliant mix of different types of puzzle. The decor was well done and after finding what was in the chest it was very easy to become fully immersed in the game. We’d only played 3 games previously so we requested medium difficulty. We needed quite a few clues which were hilariously done and in keeping with the game, and it really felt like our host wanted to help us to escape and end the game successfully. Please go and play this room, you won’t be disappointed! Great for younger players and adults alike- really good humoured fun!

We came to Prodigy last year and did The Lost Temple, really love it so came back for this one. We’re a family of 4 with two boys, 9 & 11 who don’t like anything too scary. This was another great room and what was even better is how the staff welcome and look after you. Top class.

From the moment we entered the building we were pulled into this expensive! The atmosphere both before and during was excellent. We had such an amazing time. Truly felt like we could achieve it! Dan was such an amazing host and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Another absolutely fantastic room from Prodigy Escapes & Experiences! The room flows really well, and it looks amazing! Really enjoyable, and unfortunately, that's the last room they have that we needed to complete :( but whenever they rebuild a room, we will definitely be back!
