Metropolis 2099

What an adventure in the “province” of Bad Steben. From the outside, it looks like an old shoe cupboard – but instead of shoes, it now offers cinema-worthy immersive rooms. The entry into the dream world, the dreaming itself, and the gentle waking-up again were a flawless experience. At some points in the dream we got stuck, but Lasse, our gamemaster, always managed to keep us within the storyline of Metropolis. The follow-up afterwards, where our remaining questions and uncertainties were addressed, was very well done. We’ll be happy to return.

Solid adventure with nice moments and effects. Unfortunately, it is too often tempting to think too complicated and complex. In the end you ask yourself, who or what am I? Human or synth?

Nach einer kleinen Trink und Snackpause starten wir mit dem nächsten Traum. Diesmal verschlug es uns mit Martin nach Metropolis 2099 in eine Cyberpunkwelt. Schon der Start im asiatischen Imbiss versetzte den ein oder anderen von uns in eine andere Welt. Hier forderten uns noch mehr Rätsel heraus und wie sollte es auch anders sein, war es Technik-mäßig phantastisch. Ob Imbiss, Bar, Büro, Hauptquartier oder andere Bereiche, alles war super aufeinander abgestimmt und passte stets in Thema und zur Aufmachung. Auch dieser Traum endete leider nach 90 Minuten (was einem gar nicht so vorkam) und wir erwachten wieder im Dream Labs Labor.

We really enjoyed this one. The decoration was beautiful and very immersive. There were a couple wow moments that really showed a great attention to detail. The story was great, but at times audio (which was important to the story) would begin suddenly, and we missed a few things. We really liked the puzzles, but we wished there were more. Some rooms were so beautifully decorated, with such detail, but then you would leave after a short time. We wished we could have stayed for longer! ;)

Stunning room - extremely high quality setting with lots of attention to detail. Staring at the intro all the way through until the debrief a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s a story-driven immersive adventure in a dystopian future. You have to do tasks along the story line with drive the plot forward and fit all well with the theme. Almost no logical/combinatorial puzzles, more heavy on the search, find, and place/use side of tasks. Given the overall high intense plot, we were a little bit underwhelmed by the ending of the story but that’s complaining on a very high level. An absolute must-play for lovers of story-heavy immersive adventures.

Stunning escape room! An extremely immersive and exciting room with such beautiful details! Worth a trip all the way from Finland. 😂 Hard to decide if we liked this one or the Pirate one more, but I think this one was slightly more impressive. Both of them, simply amazing. We played as a group of three, two adults and one 15-year old. Worked well.

Metropolis 2099: I personally LOVED the theme. The intro into this game (starting at the lobby) is maybe the best I’ve ever seen at any escape room company in the world. I am strictly speaking to the immersion factor. I have never seen anything like it. It allows you to COMPLETELY suspend your disbelief in a way no other set up can/has that I have seen (and the same goes for The Heartless Pirate). The overall game flow is not as good as HP. There were a few times we were scratching our heads wondering what to do. Maybe we were tired. Our day started 12 hours prior. Tech and set design were flawless. A true Gen 3 room in every respect. Great game masters. One of the best games in the world!

Excellent room, puzzle flow and difficulty accessible and well thought out.

Dieser mit spürbarer Liebe zum Detail erbaute Raum stellt vieles in den Schatten. Von der ersten Minute an ist das Erlebnis ganz besonders. Hier passt einfach alles. Es könnte ewig dauern und ich würde am liebsten nur noch solche Räume spielen. Wer kann und Spaß an ERs hat sollte das Spielen in Bad Steben nicht verpassen.
