You brave the wasteland and enter the city of New Oldsburg where a functional fusion core battery is rumored to be stored inside a silo. You must scavenge the alleyway to find a way into the silo, acquire the fusion core battery and get back to camp before the sun goes down and the city gets dangerous.

What a great experience. From the beginning, the manager and GM Joshua was super nice. The room itself was really cool, and I could see a lot of references from Fallout the video game in here. The room was medium to hard, but probably more on the hard side for those who aren’t experienced escape room players. Doing other escape rooms at this Sherlock’s and the Fort Worth location helped with some of their tricks and techniques. We will definitely be back and may even do other rooms again because we enjoyed the experience so much.

What was good? The theme and overall set design of the room were great. Our initial immersion into the room gave us the feeling we were in an apocalyptic future. After that, it went downhill quick. Most of the puzzles involved locks which in itself a room could still have potential to be good. But figuring out through vague observations in the room what numbers can unlock a padlock does not make for a fun room. There were some non-lock puzzles but even the logic for these was confusing and didn’t make sense. The most frustrating part of our experience was our interaction with our game master. He was great with the initial briefing and leading us to the room. When it came to actual assistance with the game he was inattentive and the clues provided were not helpful. When we requested clues, we went several minutes before we heard from him. Since time is of the essence, this wasn’t particularly helpful. We noticed why this was occurring. We heard through the walls that early on during our game that our game master was briefing another group with another game next door. We could also hear him giving them clues during our game to the folks next door. So we knew our game master was running at least two games simultaneously. This is not acceptable. What we received was infrequent assistance and a lack of detail when we had questions. This location has the potential to have some fun, well themed rooms, but the game master interaction does not make it worth doing. We would not recommend this place to our other escape room enthusiast friends.

One part is unreasonably hard partly because it’s dangerous for your eyes, but also because it’s just set up unreasonably. The room is super cool though, overall we did like it, but that part was awful.

We were stuck for a while on one part and ended up wasting like 5-6 minutes on it, even after asking for a clue and then to skip it because we found it dangerous.
