Well, it was “about time” my team and I played Timeliner: Train Through Time! We were super excited to play this one because we heard a lot of great things about this room and the unique theming and quality of taking a Timeliner through time. Unfortunately, coming from playing Cosmic Crisis right before, it was a slight letdown in terms of satisfaction. Primarily because it was fairly easy, the ending seemed anti-climactic, and this room relied heavily on screens that I felt took away from certain parts of Timeliner. But don’t let that discourage you though! Timeliner still has a lot to offer, especially if you’re interested in the theming and the idea of a train through time. I admit, there were 5 of us on our team and we have played a lot of escape rooms, so it may just be a slight bias as to why we finished as fast as we did. I would recommend a team of 2-4 players, depending on your confidence and skill level, so that y’all can thoroughly enjoy your experience being immersed in the Timeliner. This room is linear, and I would rate this escape room as Easy to Medium depending on how many escape rooms you’ve played and how well your team works together. Timeliner wasn’t necessarily my favorite at this location, but it wasn’t the worst by any means. The theming itself and the idea behind a Timeliner train that travels through time was very intriguing and cool! If you’re interested in a high tech, futuristic themed escape room, then I would recommend this escape room to you.
The gameplay flowed well and was smooth. Some puzzles were predictable with a mixture of lock and key and Gen 1 puzzles, but some were pretty unique as well.
I enjoyed the set design the most. As you’re in a Timeliner, there were even shelves, vending machines, ticket cards, etc, in it’s our futuristic, unique way.

The transition between different settings was a little faulty. At one point, we had to hold something in order for the next part to be revealed.

Set design was great but felt the overall flow was anticlimactic

Super cool theme! Cool use of screens. Puzzle rating difficulty was a 7/10, but it was kinda easy. Overall had a great time :)

This game is so unique and fun! I loved the personal details throughout, you can tell they put so much into the details. The game play was fun and made sense, fairly linear. We had Katie for this game and she was a joy!
You're in a train car with different stops. It's very unique and detailed!

I would say the rating of 7/10 is accurate. There are a few parts that are particularly tricky though.

High tech with a good amount of physical locks included as well. A perfect mix

Such an interesting room. Lots of effort put into decor, the puzzles were really cool to solve, went like 2 weeks after it opened and it was AWESOME. Absolutely worth the play and looking at playing it again
The story was fun and well set up
Our GM Michael was super fun to be around and made it a fun experience
The story was well integrated and super interesting

Neat theme, but not my favorite game with this company. We were on a roll until one puzzle with a wooden ball brought us to a screeching halt. That one puzzle was needlessly difficult while the rest of the room was relatively easy. We still had a good time though.

Another escape game room that didn’t disappoint, not overly hard but there is a ton to do in this room. Really loved how each time you travel through time you truly feel that things have changed to the time you jumped too. Think our group needed 2 clues but one was needed because the puzzle didn’t work when our correct and the gm has to manually make it work. This is definitely a must do room

The theming was interesting and the visuals on the screen were well done. It was our last room of the night and we were tired, so we overlooked some of the puzzles that should have been easier to solve. Great game masters from The Escape Games, as usual.

We stumbled through some of the puzzles because we just weren’t connecting the dots, but the room shouldn’t be too difficult

To start, I need to mention that this places policy of booking public rooms is a big bummer. I hope it works well financially for them, because it’s a really big turn off for most groups. We ended up having to pay extra to buy out the remaining slots in the room just to have our group of 5 not be joined by random people. We definitely would have booked two rooms that day if not for the extra cost associated with it. Giving this one a like for set design and the aesthetic part of the puzzles. Overall the game looked gorgeous as we’ve come to expect with all of The Escape Game’s rooms. This one had so much potential but really didn’t live up to it. The whole experience felt really rushed and like there was a lack of puzzles throughout. Additionally, when we arrived the only host there spent a ton of time describing, in detail, every game on the list to some prospective clients. This is fine of course except that it meant we didn’t start our game until 15 minutes past the booking. To add on to it, the room wasn’t properly reset so we had to ask and then reset part of it ourselves which is a bummer.
