A power-mad cult leader. A bone-chilling curse. Break the cycle before midnight or face death yourself! The deranged minister of Crickley Church decided to kill his entire congregation after their confessions convinced his twisted mind that they had, among themselves, committed the 7 Deadly Sins. After inciting a curse on the children playing in the rooms beneath the church he buries himself alive in the church’s hidden crypt, while promising to haunt the church forevermore. Now it’s up to you to locate the hidden crypt, find the dagger, and drive it through the heart of the evil minister before time runs out. Then, and only then, you will be saved and destroy the curse forever.

Setting was really good but some of the puzzles were tough. We only made it out by the grace of our game master!

This room was odd. I enjoyed it but it was not as fluent as I like my games to be. I can see how this would be very difficult for first timers and even prevent them from trying again. As enthusiasts, we made it through... but definitely not for those not into the escape room scene.

Gameplay

The game didn't flow as well as I enjoy.

Atmosphere

The effects were great. Fun atmosphere.

Customer service

Game master was pleasant, but we arrived 15 minutes early and we're made to feel like we were late because he needed to go over rules.

Game master was really nice and funny guy. Gameplay was terrible. Absolutely nothing made sense. Puzzles didn’t go together and mechanical issues. Was not happy about this room

While I do consider this room to be one of, if not the hardest I've played, it still is so much fun. The immersion is some of Escapology's best and the set of puzzles is tricky but lots of fun and satisfying to figure out. The game puts the greatest of players to the test, dropping subtle hints from start to finish and making sure nothing is meaningless. Out of 20 escape rooms I've played at the time of writing, this one ranks 5th for me - bias aside.

Call me biased especially on this one, but I do genuinely think my coworkers and I do a good job at making the experience fun from start to finish.

Mechanical

Although the puzzles themselves are mostly lock and key, the game does feature some pretty cool lighting, screens, and RFID technology throughout.

Ideal number of players

4

This is my magic number for all escape rooms. 2-3 is doable and 5+ pushes too many, but 4 is in my opinion your best bet.

Scary

Spooky

There are a few lighting effects and sudden noises that may surprise players, but the room itself is not meant to scare and thus remains in this spooky category.

Minimum age

14

I usually say 12, the only reason I say 14 here is some of the aforementioned noises and lights may surprise and creep out some younger players.

Was anything broken?

Yes

I will admit, some RFID readers are finnicky at times, but us game masters can typically cover it up well enough that players will not notice.

Live actors

No

Physically active

Somewhat

I wouldn't put any room in the "not at all" category, but this room doesn't require anything specific or extra.

Accessibility

One puzzle involves interpreting colors and the room is generally dark, but otherwise everyone should be able to play this from start to finish without issues.

Easy to find location

Yes

This Escapology location sits inside of the Rollhouse Entertainment Center.
