Permanently Closed - Newgate Prison houses the notorious Gruesome Four: Professor Moriarty, Jack the Ripper, Sweeney Todd, and Edward Hyde. Rumors have spread of their plan to work together in constructing a bomb to plant in the city. Sherlock Holmes had been hired to investigate the rumors, but before he could disclose his findings, the Gruesome Four broke out of Newgate and kidnapped the famed detective. One of them has planted the bomb somewhere in London. Scotland Yard has summoned you to 221b Baker Street to put together Sherlock’s findings, and figure out the location of the bomb. It’s set to detonate at the strike of Big Ben, 50 minutes from now… Will you be able to save London in time?

Thank you for taking time to leave us a review! I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy our new Sherlock revamp but I would like to clarify some things. The lock and puzzle you’re referring to that didn’t work was a directional lock. Our Gamemaster’s always go over how to properly use this type of lock but your group rudely rushed our Gamemaster stating that you already knew how to operate it. For the future I recommend that you allow any Gamemaster to go over important information with your group. Even the most experience escape artists can benefit from some friendly refreshers!

Not exactly linear and there were some great physical puzzles that reminded me of early escape rooms which I loved. Some of the clues could have been improved for clarity. We had essentially solved them but orientations were unclear and that felt like a waste to understand the puzzle but lose time and burn hints on confirming something that could have been made clear with an arrow. A bit on the simpler side for a room and based on the price and the fact you don’t get a full hour I felt this room overall could be better before I’d recommend it to any enthusiasts

This room was okay. I’ve played better rooms but I enjoyed the puzzles here. Some of the puzzles actually made my team think hard.

The puzzles were well thought out and fit in with the theme. The room was tiny though.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere felt cramped and slightly dark. The props matched the theme but the overall room could’ve been better.

I have played this room at both locations, they are the same and do not recommend doing them both as it is a waste of money and their rooms are pretty pricey. I liked this room but a couple of the puzzles were not intuitive as we needed some help solving them. Theme was great and GM was in good character. I did enjoy doing this in the room in Rocklin/roseville better as it was a somewhat simplified version and you did not waste a bunch of time on one of the puzzles like this location had. Especially being a 50min room, one puzzle was extremely long for no reason and was definitely a contributor to why we didn’t escape.
