My first try at an Escapologist game and I wasn't disappointed.
There is a lot to like, the theming is very good, the atmosphere is done well for the most part.
The room was mostly in the dark, which did hamper my experience quite a lot. It can be hard to see, and part of the game is figuring out how to turn on the lights which don't illuminate it well. I understand that is part of the theming and atmosphere, but it made puzzles and locks difficult to solve, especially after we were encouraged to not use our torches.
The gameplay wasn't signposted as well as it needed to be, but that is just my opinion, and the room is designed to be hard.
Set design and atmosphere provided in the room was good. We were warned that using our torches would ruin the experience which did make it difficult to see a lot of important clues
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Particularly interesting or different
No
There was a puzzle that was different in its construction.
Enough gore to be horror but no significant sign it was zombies
Some magnets but mostly mechanical
Atmosphere wasn't too bad but not enough for a horror room
Physically active
Somewhat
There is a crawlspace but only one person needed to go through.
Accessibility
Visually impaired people will struggle, and I would discourage those with mobility issues to attempt as there is a dip in the floor.
