Welcome to the Gotham City Guardians training program! Gotham City, a metropolis plagued by crime and injustice, is in dire need of heroes. In response to the escalating threats, Batman has initiated a new Gotham City Guardian training program. You have been carefully selected for the program to attempt a new and intense training exercise, designed to teach you how to push your limits, catch criminals and uphold justice alongside the Caped Crusader. To prove you have what it takes, you must compete to complete the rigorous training exercise designed by the Batman. Pass, and you're in. Fail, and your origin story ends here. Are you prepared to answer the call? You've answered the call and there's no time to waste. Step into a custom simulation of the Batcave, filled with bat-tech tailored to your mission needs. The communication systems built into the Batcomputer are designed to deliver guidance along the way, with curated clues from the Batman to guide you through your journey. But be warned ... the rest is up to you. Batman has planted a training device in the heart of Gotham City, filled with a non-harmful chemical compound designed to mimic a legitimate chemical leak without the fatality. The device is fitted with a countdown clock that will release the gas in exactly 60 minutes after your mission start time so you'll have to work quickly. There's no turning back now, Guardian. The Dark Knight chose you for this program-prove him right or miss your shot forever. lt is up to your team to locate and disarm the training device that Batman has planted in the heart of Gotham City. If you can find the device and stop the release of the gas before the countdown timer ends in 60 minutes, you will have successfully completed your mission, cleared your training and saved Gotham City. But if you fail, you will leave and not be invited to return into the program again. This is your one and only chance to get this right. Do you have what it takes to complete your mission and earn your status? Can you locate the chemical device and defuse the situation before time runs out? Will you prove you have the ability to fight for justice, or will Gotham City's criminal forces be out of your league? Prepare for the unexpected, work closely with your team and don't give up - the clock is ticking. Time is of the essence.

I feel really bad giving this room a thumbs down, I wanted to like it, but we just happened to have multiple glitches on the day we played. The sound was very low and hard to hear and I think at least two high tech puzzles were not working. I'm confused how we escaped without completing them. The GM was verrrry apologetic (especially since we had already played four other rooms with them this week and had great experiences). I saw the repair men going into the room after we left, so hopefully, the next players have a better experience. Escapology Carlsbad has great rooms, so we are still excited to play two more rooms with them this week.
I wanted to like the game, but there were too many glitches to fairly evaluate the room's flow and fun-factor.
The props were all in theme and very well integrated.
The Escapology employees are terrific! They are very welcoming, accommodating, and funny. The GM was verrrry apologetic about the glitches and comped us with free passes to play another game tomorrow.
Yes
I liked the Batman theme. I think this is my first super hero room.
The decorations were great. Escapology does a great job with decor in all of their rooms.
Medium
This is a tough question to answer. I would rate it as on the hard side of medium. However, we had at least two puzzles glitch (literally we skipped over them) but somehow we still escaped (with 29:23 remaining). So perhaps the room would have been harder if those puzzles had been functioning?
High tech
The room had a mixture of both, but slightly more tech.

This was my 36th escape room (31W - 5L) so I still consider myself a bit of a newbie (I probably always will...). I played with five other players with similar statistics ranging in age from 11 to 58. There were times when some of our players were standing around so four players might be ideal.

The Batman theme was a fun idea
Yes
One box appeared to be open before the game started (not sure if this was intentional), a drawer didn't close (not sure if it was supposed to), and we never solved two major puzzles but somehow still escaped (with 29:23 remaining). I think the repair men went in after we exited so the room will probably be fine for the next players. The GM was verrry apologetic and gave us passes to play another one of their rooms tomorrow.
No
No live actors, thank goodness.
Somewhat
Mostly just walking around, nothing strenuous.
The room is probably large enough for a wheelchair, but there is a need for auditory, visual, and color abilities.
Yes
It is in a mall
Easy
Lots of mall parking. Plus there are lots of restaurants nearby if you book multiple rooms and need a snack in between.

Some boxes were already opened. When I tried to close them they just popped back at me. I think they were broken.

Good story and nice set design. Not a fan of one of the puzzles that used electronic elements poorly.

There was one puzzle that IMO was worded poorly. If you are bringing kids then go for it, but if itβs just adults maybe skip this one π€·πΌββοΈ
It was super easy. I had a seven and four year old and they were able to help waaaaay more than the typical escape room.
The voiceovers that were triggered were a little hard to hear.

This is just an okay room. Very mass-produced feel. Puzzles don't always make sense and are definitely not intuitive at times.

The concept was great but lacked a bit of creativity in terms of puzzles. Still enjoyed our time though.
